Flareon (Japanese: ブースター Booster) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves from Eevee via Fire Stone.
Biology
Physiology
Flareon is the result of an Eevee being exposed to a Fire Stone. Out of the seven known Eeveelutions, Flareon bears the closest resemblance to Eevee, (Its shiny sprite looks even more like Eevee, just larger and with much more fur.) Flareon's body is covered in red fur. Flareon has a large, bushy tail, fluffy collar and a tuft of fur on its head; all of which are yellow. The paw pads on its feet are also yellow. Flareon has a very high internal body temperature.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Flareon is capable of using physical attacks just as well as its special attacks due to its high Attack stat. Flareon can use most of the moves that Eevee is capable of using, but it can also shoot powerful flames that have been known to reach a maximum of 3,100°F. Due to the fact that Flareon is fully evolved, it can learn either Hyper Beam or Giga Impact.
Behavior
Flareon fluffs out its fur collar to cool down its body temperature, which can reach 1,650 degrees.
Habitat
Flareon are mainly found in hot places, but only rarely, as an Eevee needs to be exposed to a Fire Stone to evolve.

Trivia
- Flareon's Attack stat is the highest of any Fire-type Pokémon, tied with Ho-Oh.
- Flareon shares the same species name as Charmeleon and Charizard, Moltres, and Infernape. They are all known as Flame Pokémon.
- Glitch Trainers often own an apparently non-glitched Flareon.
- In Generation I, Flareon's base Attack stat was the second highest available, at 130, tied with Kingler, Rhydon, and Machamp. It was surpassed only by Dragonite.
- As of Generation IV, Flareon is the only fully-evolved Template:Type2 Pokémon that cannot learn SolarBeam.
- It's also the only non-legendary Template:Type2 Pokémon that can learn Rain Dance.
- All of Flareon's Pokédex entries either state the temperature of its flame or its body heat.
- Flareon is the only Eeveelution so far to have a type advantage over two of its fellow Eeveelutions (Leafeon and Glaceon share a weakness to Fire).
Origin
It has traits of foxes, felines (especially lions) and lap dogs, such as the Pomeranian dog.
Name origin
Flareon's name is derived from flare. The -eon suffix, common to all Eevee evolutions, comes from Eevee's prototype English name and possibly refers to the ending suffix of evolution itself. Its Japanese name may refer to rocket boosters, which propel things by combustion of fuel.
In other languages
- German: Flamara - From Flamme (flame). Ends with -a like every Eeveelution in German.
- French: Pyroli - From pyro. Ends with -li like every Eeveelution in French.
- Korean: 부스터 Buseuta
- Chinese (Taiwan): 火精靈 Huǒ Jīng Líng - Literally means "Fire Spirit". Ends with -精靈(spirit) like every Eeveelution in Chinese.
