Trivia
- Karate Chop is one of the four moves to have its type changed in Generation II; the others are Gust, Bite, and Sand-Attack. Coincidentally, they all were Template:Type2 moves in Generation I.
- Prior to Generation V, all Pokémon that learn this move by leveling up are only Machop's evolutionary line and Mankey's family.
- The only Pokémon that can learn Karate Chop through breeding are Elekid and Magby.
