Yay

Broccoli. TTEchidna 23:55, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Actually it's Willow

it's name comes from willow

appu not so sure...."Ape?"

(and I apologize for my previous mistake) Ataro 00:07, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

In the part of "Yana", the vegetable(野菜/yasai) might be an origin. When the pronunciation of the Yasai(vegetable) is changed, it becomes yana(野(ya)菜(na)). Sawamular101 12:38, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
I could understand that, it'd essentially mean Vegetable Ape. Myzou 04:36, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

I beleive Ape is Eipu ***Snozzardi***

My expectation seems to have been crushed by the name of "Hiyappu(Hyacinthus?)" and "Baoppu(Baobab?)". Sawamular101 08:03, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm almost sure it could be mainspace, but I ask before post it!

Trivia

  • Yanappu was first seen in an image despicting Toys in the month of July, but it wasn't named and nothing was known about it. In the beggining of August a false leak of the September issue of CoroCoro showed this Pokémon again with more information about it, but it was proven false, even though this Pokémon is now know as real. This could prove the leak had actually some true leaked information about the upcoming games and that some of the rest of the Pokémon shown are real too.

(yes.. it needs links xD.. I've been away a while so I'm a little ..off). Thanks in advance. YukitoOoO 03:20, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

the part about the fake info sounds like speculation.... I think only the first part should be kept Ataro 03:26, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Yes, you're right I guess! Tc26 added it, thanks T!! YukitoOoO 05:22, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Anime

Shouln't Yanappu be added to the "In the anime" section as Dento's Yanappu? --samm -- 23:06, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Derp

So the starters and Legendary Trios get their own group pages and the Monkeys don't? Shiramu Kuromu 23:03, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

They do, it's in Jello(I think)'s userspace Ataro 23:20, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
It's in mine (though Jello could have one too that I don't know about). User:Kenji-girl/Elemental monkeys. I'm stuck on what to add to it though. Please feel free to help improve it. --ケンジガール 05:39, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Protect/Rename?

Serebii just revealed the 3 monkey's english names, which were released via English Display Boxes sent to game retailers. There's a picture, but it's low quality. As such, I'm just wondering if an admin may want to protect the 3 elemental monkey's pages, as Serebii isn't a reliable source for Bulba, as posted on multiple pages, or if they think the picture is reliable enough, rename. Just thought I'd post because obviously people will see it and attempt to change it. Myzou 22:14, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

It's not just Serebii - it's all unofficial sources of information. We'll just watch the pages for now. I'd rather not lock editing for everyone just in case. If it becomes a problem, we'll deal with it later. —darklordtrom 22:21, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Blurry? The picture looks pretty clear to me. I just clicked to zoom in, and I can clearly see the names "Pansage", "Pansear", "Panpour", "N" and "Team Plasma".Burnpsy 20:22, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
They could be nicknamed. --SnorlaxMonster 07:36, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Come on. You know it's utter bullcrap. Pokemon on the screens are never nicknamed. And the "official" screens are always direct translations of their Japanese counterpart. But, I know, "we're Bulbapedia. We must deny everything." --Maxim 08:45, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes, these are almost certainly their English names. However, it is better to be overly cautious than not cautious enough. Have these names been trademarked yet? http://www.pansage.com/ has a squatter, http://www.panpour.com/ is open and http://www.pansear.com/ is parked. --SnorlaxMonster 10:12, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure what you're trying to accomplish using those as examples... Considering a basic http://www.butterfree.com isn't registered. Myzou 15:21, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Exactly. Registered trademark =/= registered domain. They do not register domain for every single Pokémon name. --Maxim 18:52, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Croalurk, Spinx, and Shelios. Remember them? That's probably why the admins are waiting for an official confirmation. --ケンジガール 04:46, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Um, wasn't those because of a low quality scan rather than what is happening with the monkeys? Ataro 04:51, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
This scan isn't perfect either. The letters look warped. --ケンジガール 04:59, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
I just went to a GameStop and saw a big display box of the video game boxart. The back of the box, which is the same as the normal-sized display box, has a screenshot of the game with the monkeys' names as "Pansage", "Pansear", and "Panpour".

Its true we should change pages to Pansage, Pansear and panpore. - unsigned comment from Pokemonboy3000 (talkcontribs)

No, we should wait.--Pokélova! 03:39, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
We have more confirmation.--immewnitythemew 01:36, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
So should they be moved now? Seeing as the names are finally confirmed, I don't see why not. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 21:42, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
It's really not fair that it's blocked until March 2011. There are many good natured editors who know what their doing who would love to edit and improve these pages. Now we can't. --Pokemaster97 22:14, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Umm... it's an encyclopedia. There are many other pages that you can edit. And... this argument has gone between autoconfirmed users, so we have to block for said users. ht14 22:16, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
