As your mom sees your future and your adventures ahead, she forces back a tear and bid you farewell, along with giving you a gift, the [[Xtransceiver]]! Surely, it's an upgraded version of PokéGear because now instead of two, four can talk with even video calling! But, alas, it doesn't store the numbers of anyone, does not have radio, the map and the worst thing it is selectable! True, it is not accessible right now, but it might/might not be accessible in the future. Hey this would better be a surprise for now.

Starting Out

Professor Juniper and her Minccino introduce you to the world of Pokémon.

After you choose "NEW GAME," you are enquired your character's gender. This cannot be changed after selecting. Before long, Professor Juniper appears and introduces new Trainers to the Pokémon world. Her lecture is important for new players, though it's nothing new to veterans of the series. Once she is done talking, you have to enter your character's name. The name cannot be changed either, so double-check that you have what you want. It should be noted that this the first game to have no default names to select from. Press "OK" when you are happy with your choice, and your sprite will shrink to the overworld sprite.

Nuvema Town

After entering your name, you find yourself with Cheren in your bedroom, waiting for Bianca to show up.

Finally, Bianca is here! Now, Cheren and Bianca want you to open the present in front of you. Open the present and select your starter Pokémon. Who do you choose?

Bianca will then ask you both to fight. But Cheren will say no and you will begin a battle with Bianca. After the battle, both of your Pokémon are healed by Cheren (regardless of who wins). Then, Bianca will apologize to you for making a mess of your room. Then, Bianca forces Cheren to fight with you.

Your Adventure, The Sorrow of Leaving

If Cheren wins, he will proud of the victory but if you win then nothing will happen of that sort. As you gaze upon a tattered and ragged, room, you stare at Bianca and Cheren in an ague of indifference. They leave the room, and you too seem to agree. Your mom lets you rest to perk up your spirits.

As your mom sees your future and your adventures ahead, she forces back a tear and bids you farewell, she also gives you a gift, the Xtransceiver! YES!!!

This is your first Pokémon! Step onwards, an adventure AWAITS!

Cherry Blossoms in the Wind

You head out, when you see Bianca and Cheren side by side. You join them, and you find Juniper in the midst of a fierce battle, trying to show you how to catch Patrat. Weaken it... and throw a Poké Ball. That concludes her lesson. She gives you 5 Poké Balls, and trudges towards her destination.

Team Plasma, Rendezvous at Accumula

Walking north, you encounter your pals. Juniper rings, so you, Cheren and Bianca pick it up, and Juniper talks about a meeting at the Poké Center in Accumula. Another lesson it seems!

You walk out, and Cheren bids you come to a gathering of sorts.

Weird men dressed in strange, enigmatic suits line up, and a robed, claimed sage rants about "a new world". What is going on?

As you step aside with Cheren, a green-haired man steps forward.

He starts battling with you.

He walks away, saying that "we'll meet again".

Who is he? Who is N?

Route 2, Running Shoes

As you enter Route 2, your mom calls you, and says she has a present. You turn around, and... it's your mom!

She hands you the Running Shoes. You can now run freely in the wind. How handy is that?

She says goodbye and heads home. You graze in the road for a while, and you decide to finally hit the road.

Catch a Lillipup if you can, around Lv. 4-7 will be handy.

Purrloin also has high Attack and Special Attack as well as very good Speed, and after leveling up, it will have powerful moves, like Pursuit or Night Slash.

If you are low in levels, run around outside the grass for a bit, till a patch of grass shakes. Shaking grass in the first few routes only have Audino, which give a lot of experience if fainted.

As you are about to skip gleefully into the safety (and Pokémon Center) of Striaton City, none other than Bianca appears. She challenges you to a battle.
