A bot is a user that makes edits through an automated program. By default, the edits made by users in this usergroup will not show up on your watchlist, or on the list of recent changes. If you wish to see these edits, you can set this up in your preferences.

Establishing a bot
Before creating a bot account, check with the Editorial Board using this forum thread that its presence is required. It may only be necessary to reprogram an existing bot to carry out additional tasks.
