Trivia
- Mesprit is, as of Generation IV, one of the three lightest legendary Pokémon, tied with the other members of its trio.
Origin
Mesprit is based after a spirit or a sprite and the color Magenta.
Name origin
The first part of its name comes from the Japanese verb 笑む emu, meaning to smile. Rit may come from the word sprite, another word for fairy. The English name may come from the French word "Esprit" meaning "spirit".
