The Macho Brace (Japanese: きょうせいギプス Coercive Cast) is a held item introduced in Generation III. It doubles all effort values gained by the holder during a battle. It is an unobtainable held item in Generation VII.

Doubles any effort values that are obtained by the Pokémon holding it during a battle. Stacks with Pokérus. It does not affect effort values gained from vitamins.
The Speed stat of the Pokémon holding this item is halved during battle.

In the anime
In Under the Pledging Tree!, a set of Macho Braces was one of the items offered to Ash by a market vendor in Coumarine City after Ash had wondered out loud what presents he should buy for an upcoming festival.
Trivia
- In The Path to the Pokémon League, A.J.'s Pokémon are shown to wear something called a "Strength Intensifier" which looks like a Macho Brace.
