History
Amethio debuted in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part One). He was first seen entering Indigo Academy while searching for Liko. When they met, he introduced himself as an associate of her grandmother, and requested Liko's pendant. Liko, distrusting him, attempted to escape but got caught up in a battle against Amethio's teammate Zirc and his Rhydon. He caught up with her on the roof of the academy, only for Friede to appear on the back of his Charizard and interfere, clashing with his Ceruledge.
Amethio witnessed the power Liko's mysterious pendant held and, in the following episode, led the rest of his group on an aerial chase for Friede and Liko back to the Rising Volt Tacklers's airship. After breaking through the ship's forcefield, Amethio threatened Liko to come with them, and she nearly complied, but they were stopped by Friede and Captain Pikachu. They resumed the battle from earlier, but Friede chose his Pikachu this time, which Amethio saw as a taunt. Once more, their battle ended without a winner, as Liko interrupted the battle. Her Sprigatito then unleashed a Leafage strong enough to break the forcefield around the battlefield, but was blown overboard in the process. Seeing this as a chance to gain leverage over the situation, Amethio captured Sprigatito and fled with his teammates.
In the following episode, Amethio assigned Zirc to spy on Brave Olivine and Onia to look after Sprigatito. When his group was found by the Rising Volt Taclkers, Amethio had another battle with Friede, which ended when Liko managed to rescue her Pokémon. Some time later, Amethio decided to report to Hamber on the progress of his mission, after which he decided to take responsibility for discovering the pendant's secrets.
As of The Ancient Poké Ball, after leaving without a mission to complete, that was now given by Spinel, Amethio decided to follow and discover more about the Black Rayquaza that was summoned from Roy's Ancient Poké Ball.
In The Lonely Hatenna, Amethio, Onia, and Zirc arrived in the Galar region in order to investigate the Galar Mine. In the following episode, they entered the mine and split up, with Amethio engaging Friede in battle while Onia and Zirc confronted Liko and Roy. However, a Galarian Moltres that once traveled with Lucius began rampaging, interrupting Amethio and Friede's battle. After retreating in the next episode, Amethio decided to get the Pokémon that emerged from Liko's pendant.
In Reunion at the Ancient Castle!, Amethio, Zirc and Onia reported his findings to Hamber. Right after, they followed Liko, Roy, and Friede to an ancient castle in Hammerlocke. Once they found them, Amethio and his teammates surrounded them in order to take the mysterious Pokémon away. In the next episode, Amethio battled Friede once again. During the battle, Amethio had the upper hand on Friede, until he Terastallized his Charizard into a Dark type, which led him to losing the battle.
In Terapagos's Adventure, Amethio mostly kept to himself, still upset over his defeat. His Ceruledge approached him to see if he was alright, but Amethio had few words to say. In the next episode, Amethio met up with the rest of the Explorers Admins and suggested following Rayquaza, which would eventually lead them to Lucius's other Pokémon and getting closer to Terapagos as a result. The other Admins then agreed with his suggestion.
In Roar of the Black Rayquaza, Amethio found the Black Rayquaza and battled it, but lost. After returning to base, Amethio asked Hamber to train him in order to become stronger, which he accepted. In the next episode, Amethio battled Hamber, but lost when he Terastallized his Dusknoir. After the battle, Amethio was given a Tera Orb to use from Hamber.
In From So Far Away, Amethio blamed Spinel for the destruction caused by Rayquaza and he saved Liko and Terapagos from being hit by a Draco Meteor, challenging the Legendary Pokémon again. After Terastallizing Ceruledge, Amethio reluctantly joined forces with Friede and his Tera Charizard who used a joint strategy to battle. In the midst of the tough battle, the two were defeated, and soon afterwards, Amethio witnessed the evolution of Liko's Sprigatito into a Floragato. At the end of the battle, Liko thanked Amethio for his help, but he replied that their team-up was just something temporary and that his objective was just the Black Rayquaza before returning to the Explorers' base. Later, in a meeting with the other members and Gibeon, Amethio heard each other's new missions, and after each one left the place, Amethio stayed with Hamber at the base.
In HZ054, Amethio was summoned to meet with Gibeon in person. While in the meeting, he swore to succeed in capturing Terapagos and finding Laqua, so Gibeon could obtain the Laquium found there. After leaving, Amethio promised Hamber that he would succeed for his grandfather, Gibeon, where his father had failed, and asked Ceruledge to continue serving him in this endeavor. He was then contacted by Zirc and Onia, who had been spying on Spinel at the Exceed building and alerted him to his rival Admin's movements. This information led Amethio to conclude that Spinel was once again planning something.
In HZ064, Amethio was tracking down Spinel on his Corviknight and, after spotting him and Umbreon, settled onto land encountering Liko. Amethio then battled her, noticing how far Liko has come as a Trainer and how Floragato was stronger than before. Amethio decided to Terastallize Ceruledge to get the upper hand, but when Ceruledge was finishing the battle, Spinel's Umbreon suddenly interrupted it. Amethio demanded to know what Spinel was up to, but he didn't answer and used the stolen Laquium to experiment on his Umbreon, causing it to go berserk and defeat Ceruledge in one attack. After Terapagos used its Terastal form's power to revert Umbreon back to normal and destroy the Laquium, Spinel fleed, so Amethio and Liko chased after him. They went throught a cave, where they get trapped inside as part of Spinel's plan.
In the next episode, while sitting to a campfire set by Ceruledge, Amethio opened up to Liko about wanting to fulfill his grandfather's goals. Terapagos was angered at Amethio upon hearing this, but Liko calmed it down and she noted that also her grandmother set her out to find Laqua. When asked by Liko as to why the Rising Volt Tacklers and Explorers couldn't just work together towards the same goal instead of being enemies, Amethio responded they had still different paths. After escaping the cave with their Pokémon's help, Amethio warned Liko of Spinel's tactics before parting ways with her.
After arriving at the base, Amethio was accused of betrayal by Spinel, who recorded footage of him helping out Liko and not capturing Terapagos even when he had the chance. Amethio realized this was Spinel's plan to frame him, but before he could give a proper explanation to the others, his grandfather chimed in, stating his disappointment in him for helping their enemies before expelling him from the Explorers. Upon hearing this, Amethio was filled with rage and resentment.
Character
Amethio is a formal person who does not show much emotion in many situations. However, his politeness is a front he uses to manipulate others into giving him what he wants. Amethio would take the first initiative to decide whether a battle is necessary. Instead of having Zirc and Onia, he would be the one to battle, taking responsibility of the situation. However, his tendency to battle by himself tends to make him reckless, such as when he first tried to take on Lucius's Black Rayquaza with his own Pokemon without backup, which resulted in failure.
He is a strong Trainer and appears to have sparked somewhat of a rivalry with Friede, even suggesting to resume a battle they dropped off earlier in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part Two). He also doesn't take lightly to being underestimated, expressing his irritation when Friede chose his Pikachu over his Charizard or when Friede is distracted during their battles.
Despite his forceful means, Amethio seems to not want to use unnecessary violence to attain his goals, such as when he flinched when his Ceruledge's Psycho Cut missed and caused an explosion on the Brave Olivine, as well as saving Sprigatito from falling. He also does not have any ill intent towards the Rising Volt Tacklers (and their Pokémon) personally, allowing Onia to care for Sprigatito in her own affectionate way, as well as having his Ceruledge protect Liko from the Black Rayquaza's Draco Meteor despite having no reason to do so, even helping out Liko with a plan to escape from a cave sealed by Spinel in HZ065. All these positive traits show Amethio's personal sense of honor and respect even towards enemies, and that deep down he is a kind and compassionate person.

Corviknight is Amethio's second known Pokémon. Amethio uses Corviknight as his main means of transportation. In Found You, Fuecoco!, it was briefly used to battle Friede's Charizard before being commanded by Amethio to capture Liko, which it failed due to the pendant's power protecting her with a powerful barrier.
In Roar of the Black Rayquaza, Corviknight was used as a means to assist Ceruledge in its battle against the Black Rayquaza, helping Ceruledge by allowing the Fire Blades Pokémon fly on its back as the battle took place at sea, even attacking Rayquaza from a distance with Air Slash. However, despite their efforts, both of them were no match for Rayquaza, and after Ceruledge's defeat Corviknight was recalled by Amethio before he retreated.
In HZ064, Corviknight was used by Amethio to fly on and spy on Spinel to track him down. In the next episode, it was then used to carry Ceruledge and Liko's Floragato to the roof of the cave where they were trapped in order to unleash attacks to break through the roof more easily and get out of the cave.

Pokémon Mezastar
Amethio, in a version based on the anime, appeared in Pokémon Mezastar. In this game, Amethio is seen using Corviknight, Rhydon, Golduck, and Ceruledge, with Rhydon and Golduck being Pokémon that he was not seen using in the anime, although it could be a reference to Zirc's Rhydon, and Onia's Golduck. In the first Gorgeous Star series, as part of a tie-in with the anime, Rising Volt Tacklers Liko, Roy, Friede, or Explorers Admin Amethio, could randomly challenge the player as a Trainer and Battle opponent.
