Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Lindsayoris15!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Lindsayoris15/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Genders of anime Pokémon

Yeah, Pidgeot acts like a guy, and Pikachu's pretty much confirmed with the undoubted femininity of May's Venusaur... buuuuuuut... no. Can't do that. We'd have put the genders in a long time ago if we knew for sure. TTEchidna 07:18, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Same is true of what you mentioned about Swellow (unless TTEchidna's talking about the same thing...). NO ASSUMPTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (For all we know, Ash could be a girl, but they mention HIM as a GUY...) ht14 02:06, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Moves Used

Make sure that the Pokémon can learn the move, and make sure the Pokémon ACTUALLY USED IT. Proof!!•Pokemaniac102 15:35, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Dub titles

Put them outside the link, not inside it. It makes things easier. ''[[EP001|Pokémon, I Choose You!]]'', rather than [[EP001|''Pokémon, I Choose You!'']]. TTEchidna 07:11, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

When commenting...

  1. Try to keep it related to the article, not just the topic of the article.
  2. Sign with ~~~~ so we know who you are. Like this: Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 01:35, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
...But don't sign the articles themselves. Just talk pages. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 17:53, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

T.T

I don't want to keep doing this so I'm just gonna get to the main point...

1. Sign your comments, with ~~~~. I don't want to keep putting - unsigned comment from Lindsayoris15 (talkcontribs)
2. Please don't ask useless and meaningless questions such as on the Zoey discussion page. This is an encyclopedia, not a forum, that's why there's a link on the sidebar that says Bulbapedia forum.

Please follow these rules... T.T~Pokemaniac102 02:29, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I forgot to mention number 3

3. Do not use caps. It is very rude and there is no need.

Episode Articles

Please don't copy and paste content from another episode article to create a new episode article. Use Template:DP episode instead. If you don't know how to use it, here's a lowdown:

  1. This field denotes the number of the episode in question. At present, only two digits; this will change starting with DP100. For example, for the DP094 article, the field should read 94.
  2. This field denotes the announced Japanese broadcast date. For example, if DP094 were announced for the first Thursday in October (it's October 2 this year), this field would read October 2, 2008. (Note that this is in no way indicitave of DP094's actual Japanese airdate.)
  3. This field denotes the number of the previous episode. At present, only two digits; this will change starting with DP101. For example, for the DP094 article, the field should read 93.
  4. This field denotes the number of the next episode. At present, only two digits; this will change starting with DP099. For example, for the DP094 article, the field should read 95.
  5. This field denotes the raw episode name in kanji.
  6. This field denotes the translated episode name in Roman characters. For example, if DP094's Japanese title were to translate as "Moukazaru VS Fuwaraido! Haunted House Battle!", that translation would make up field 6 with its raw kanji as field 5. (Note that this is in no way indicitave to any actual DP094 plot.)

The template may be daunting to those unfamiliar with it, but it should grow on you after a few uses. --Shiningpikablu252 19:29, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

You better stop...

because you are pissing everybody off by creating those dumb-ass pages! MoldyOrange 01:31, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Additions

Stop putting crap on the talk pages. If you think it's notable, add it to the actual article and see how people react. If it's not article-worthy, there's no reason to put it on the talk page, anyway. What you're doing is closer to spamming than anything else. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 01:32, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
