I know I'm probably getting picky now, but what is with the guestbook-type section of your userpage? You do realize that at some point they'll probably have to make it so you can't edit one another's userpages due to sabotage, right? And anyway, if people want you to know they've visited, they can comment your talkpage. I am not an admin. I have (or had) some trouble regarding regarding Bulbapedia lately, but as Dawn says, "NO NEED TO WORRY!". I promise I will never trash again. So, if you'd like, you can leave some pages that need editing. I'd be more than happy to do it. But please, no pic changing questions. That I won't do. |
Welcome
Welcome to Bulbapedia, Juan Sanfiel!
As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:
- For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
- Read over the style primer before making your edits. It is a basic outline of Bulbapedia style. For a more in-depth set of rules, see the manual of style.
- Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
- The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
- The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
- The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
- On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
- The use of link templates is official policy.
- If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
- A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
- For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
- Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
- If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Juan Sanfiel/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
- Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
- A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --PsychicRider 19:01, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Inaccurate Information
Please don't go inserting inaccurate information into articles. DP070 does NOT have a confirmed dub title. Wikipedia can be edited by morons, idiots, blockheads, and the like.
Additionally, I'm certain that Cassidy called for Granbull to use Fire Fang in the dub, yet you're insisting it was Fire Bend. Sure, closed captioning isn't always 100% accurate, but there's little reason to doubt it when it comes to Pokémon attacks. And I'm pretty certain Nintendo wouldn't mess up an attack that clearly shows a flaming bite--Firebending uses arms.
Keep inserting inaccurate stuff like this and you could find yourself blocked. --Shiningpikablu252 21:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- Also, dude, black belt in karate? Don't you know that you can learn that from the Internet? And that it doesn't matter to us what you can do to your computer screen? TTEchidna 04:20, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
"More credits" Coding
Woopert put that coding in the infoboxes for a reason. You had no reason to strip that code out. If there's a code that allows "More credits" to be displayed, leave it, it's there for a reason. Please don't strip such coding from a template again. --Shiningpikablu252 16:42, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- I mean it. Don't remove the coding that allows an episode to link to an existing anime staff page. Doing so will make it appear that no additional credits are avilable when they really are. Remove the "morecredits" and/or "epstaffpage" fields from an infobox one more time and there will be consequences. --Shiningpikablu252 17:36, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't really get what you are saying... --Juan Sanfiel 15:09, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Section titles
Like article titles, they should be in standard case. Like a sentence, not a book title. Meaning only the first word should be capital unless one of the later words is a proper noun. TTEchidna 18:47, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Userpage creation
Sounds like you've got the "use external editor by default" option checked off in your preferences. Go there, and under then "Editing" tab, make sure that option is unchecked. You should be able to edit the page normally once that's done... -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 15:22, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Please
Slow down on editing the User:
namespace. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making multiple small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page. Thank you. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 17:27, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Anime Genders
Please don't go inserting genders for anime Pokémon unless they're confirmed in the show itself. The source you were citing on the genders of May's Pokémon, Pokéani, is a fansite and is thus uncredible when it comes to anime Pokémon genders. Odds are the one who says Munchlax is May's only male is wrong, especially given how May's team is five-sevenths Pokémon with gender ratios of 87.5% male. So far, May has only two outright gender-confirmeds in Venusaur and Skitty, both female; in addition, the dub has Wartortle confirmed as male, but that's not confirmed in the original Japanese version. --Shiningpikablu252 15:08, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Knock it off
Seriously. Stop replacing the episode pictures with a screenshot of some random person in it. The old lady DOES NOT reflect the plot of the episode. Do it again and consider yourself blocked. --☆ケンジガール 05:16, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

What?
I do not understand what you you just wrote says. Can you please rewrite this more clearly so I can read it? Oh, also include your user name so I know who you are. --Juan Sanfiel 13:08, 10 August, 2008.
Talk Page Comments
Please don't erase talk page comments for no reason. Trust me, you do NOT want to end up like Big Johnno, who got into an edit war with a sysop over comments the former had erased and was trying to keep erased. That user ended up blocked and subsequently had every erased comment restored. --MoldyOrange 02:31, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Again
This is your second warning. Please refrain from editing the User:
namespace too rapidly, or you will lose privileges. --Porygon-Z 03:18, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Episode titles
Boy did you get it totally wrong. DP073 and DP074 are Crossing Paths and Pika and Goliath, respectively. DP071 and DP072 are probably not going to be aired until Pokémon Ranger: Shadow's of Almia comes out. I mean... the Pika and Goliath title should have been obvious as DP074 is similar to the story of David and Goliath, which I'm taking you've never heard of because you thought is was referencing JoJo's Cirus. --ケンジのガール 06:34, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
User namespace categories
Please don't put categories in a page on the User namespace unless the category is meant for pages in the User namespace. This includes tags that autocategorize. For example, don't put categories that would categorize a page in your userspace as an anime episode. It's against Bulbapedia policy to put categories that don't belong on pages in the User namespace into pages in the User namespace. --Shiningpikablu252 22:11, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Dub airdates
Please don't go inserting dub airdates into episodes where no dub title is confirmed. For all we know, season 10 could end with Pika and Goliath and the next new episode after that will be in November. Without a dub title for DP075, we cannot guarantee a dub airdate for that episode, much less DP076.
****, we've had instances where we've had a dub title AND an initial airdate, only to get a rerun instead. This is one reason why we can't guarantee airdates for episodes without dub titles, if it's possible we could be wrong on an airdate for an episode with a dub title! --Shiningpikablu252 02:44, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
This is your final warning
You have been told before not to change head images. This is your final warning, you have repeatedly changed the images without permission, and the images you put up do not have any reflection of the episode. If you do it one more time, consider yourself blocked. MoldyOrange 16:38, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Anyone who tries to be mean or block me on my 35th Birthday is COMPLETELY off topic! And besides, since when did I need Permission!!!!!????? --JUAN SANFIEL! 21:16, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

- Yeah.....Stop switching the images. This is not your Personal site, this is a commuunity driven site, so the peoples consensus is our consensus.--DCM((TalkContributions))
- Also, about two years ago we had a problem with one user who kept switching the head images to ones that the community and administration was not in favor of. They got into numerous edit wars regarding this very issue, and were blocked several times. They were eventually permanently blocked because they kept sockpuppeting to get around their ban. So when somebody keeps changing those images, it raises some red flags among the Bulbapedia community. Every once in a while, that user comes back with a new sockpuppet to try and change the image. That's why we're so sensitive towards this issue. As for why you don't listen to us telling you not to do it, that's something I really don't understand. So please, stop changing the images when you've been told numerous times not to. You don't want to end up like that user who was permanently banned. --PAK Man Talk 03:41, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Link Templates
Instead of writing out stuff such as [[Thunderbolt (move)|Thunderbolt]] and [[Electric (type)|Electric]], it's easier to write it out as {{m|Thunderbolt}} and {{t|Electric}}. Using the link templates makes life a whole lot easier.
For a crash course on how link templates work, look at the list of link templates. --Shiningpikablu252 02:13, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Ranger Episodes in US
What's the source on your information that Pokémon Ranger Episodes will air in USA in November? --Maxim 16:18, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
I was thinking the release date would be nearby the new juego, so that's a pretty likely date. --Juan Sanfiel 00:05 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- Likely doesn't mean guaranteed. The Mystery Dungeon 2 special was first reported to be debuting in America in April, yet it didn't debut in America until September. Since the Ranger 2 adaptation is part of the main series, I doubt we'll have to wait a similar amount of time, but without a dub title and an announced airdate, we can't make a guarantee. --Shiningpikablu252 19:06, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Username
I would like to change my username because it's too long. I want to change it to Pikapi to make it easier. Can I? If I can how can I do it? --Juan Sanfiel 20:16, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ask Zhen Lin if you're interested in changing your username. However, "Pikapi" is already taken. --ニョロトノ666 21:22, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Offering Editing Help
I've decided to stop trashing Bulbapedia. So, if you like, write down the name of an article that needs editing. I'd be more than happy and I pinky promise with a cherry on top that I won't mess up pages (if it has to do with changing anime pictures, I will not except it). Thank you very much, --Juan Sanfiel 23:44 27 September, 2008 (UTC)

Taisei
We do not reflect the dub names of characters of the day until their episode airs dubbed. An online preview is not an airing last I checked. Please do not go trying to get around an article's protection just to jump the gun on a potential dub name leak that could be wrong. --Shiningpikablu252 01:43, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Your usertags
...I'm sorry, but how can you be from all those countries at once? Please cut it to just the country you're honestly from. If you don't want to say, don't put a country usertag at all. HikariTajiri 20:36, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
