Froslass (Japanese: ユキメノコ Yukimenoko) is a dual-type Ice/Ghost Pokémon.
It evolves from female Snorunt when it is exposed to radiation from a Dawn Stone.
Biology
Physiology
Froslass doesn't have any feet, so it floats in the air like its counterpart, Glalie. What appears to be her torso is hollow, as is stated in the Pokédex's entry for Froslass, which is probably the reason for its surprisingly low weight. This "body" appears to resemble a kimono, especially due to the fact that the red band around her waist is reminiscent of an Obi. Froslass's head must serve as her actual body. Her arms, which hang off the sides of her head like ears, are flared at the wrist to further give it a kimono look. Froslass's head is shaped like a droplet of water turned on its side. The head has two ice crystals on top of it, as well as several holes through which a purple skin can be seen. From two of them, crystal-blue eyes with yellow scleras peek out.
Gender differences
Froslass is a female only species. Glalie partially counts as its male counterpart, because they both evolve from the same Pokémon. However, a Glalie could still be female.
Special abilities
Froslass has slightly weaker defensive stats than its counterpart, Glalie; however, Froslass has more speed than Glalie. Froslass has a few noticeable differences in its movepool as well. For example, Froslass can use more Template:Type2 moves than either Snorunt and Glalie can (such as Confuse Ray and Ominous Wind) instead of learning moves like Dark Pulse, Earthquake or Explosion. Froslass can also wield Electrical attacks and Psychic much like other Ghost Pokémon.

Trivia
- No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Froslass.
- Unlike most other breedable Template:Type2s, Froslass is not in the Indeterminate egg group. It shares this trait with Sableye, which is in the Humanshape egg group, and Shedinja, which is in the Mineral egg group, but can only breed with Ditto.
- Froslass and Shedinja are the only two Ghost-types that evolve from a Pokémon that wasn't a Ghost-type, if Shedinja's appearance in the player's party counts as an evolution.
- Froslass is one of three Ghost-types whose color isn't in the black or purple category. The others are Shedinja (brown) and Rotom (red).
- Froslass is the only Ghost-type Pokémon that cannot learn Will-O-Wisp.
- Although Froslass is a Ghost-type Pokémon and it is stated that it floats in the air, it does not have the ability to Levitate.
- Froslass is the last Template:Type2 Pokémon in National Pokédex order.
- Froslass is the only Ghost-type that can learn Wake-Up Slap by level-up.
- As of Generation IV, Froslass is the last Pokémon in the National Pokédex that evolves from Template:P2 from a prior generation.
Origin
Froslass is most likely based on Yuki-onna, a female ice-spirit of Japanese folklore.
Name origin
Its English name comes from frost and lass. Its Japanese name may come from 雪 yuki, snow, and 女の子 menoko, an old word for girl. It also sounds like a corruption of 着物 kimono.
In other languages
- German: Frosdedje
- French: Momartik - From môme (lass) and arctique (arctic).
- Korean: 눈여아 Nun'yeoa
