• The Tauros competition at the beginning of the episode is loosely based on the traditional Spanish Corrida de Toros, or bullfighting.

Errors

• Jessie told Wobbuffet to use Counter against Chikorita's Vine Whip and Razor Leaf. Before Generation IV, Vine Whip and Razor Leaf were special moves, which only Mirror Coat works against.
