Spheal (Japanese: タマザラシ Tamazarashi) is a dual-type Ice/Water Pokémon.
It evolves into Sealeo starting at level 32, who evolves into Walrein starting at level 44.
Biology
Physiology
Spheals are baby seal-like Pokémon. They are a powdered blue color with a beige chest. They have stubby arms an a little flat tail. Curiously, it bears resemblance to a balloon, or a ball.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Spheal, and its evolution family, Sealeo and Walrein, are the only known Pokémon that can learn Ice Ball by level.

Habitat
Spheal live in the Arctic seas.
Diet

In the anime
Spheal first appeared in The Spheal of Approval alongside its evolved form. Both of them were at the Slateport City Oceanic Museum.
A Spheal also appeared in Destiny Deoxys along with Sealeo and Walrein.
Misty owns a bag shaped like a Spheal starting with the Advanced Generation series.
Spheal made a small appearance in The Rise of Darkrai as one of the Pokémon Darkrai hit with a Dark Void.
A group of Spheal also appeared in Leading a Stray!.

- Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire: Spheal stars in the Bonus Field Whiscash or Pelipper takes the player to. They will swim in the pool and occasionally try to climb up the ice slide. Hitting a Spheal at this time will send it to a Sealeo's nose, earning five times the points from just bouncing the Poké Ball.

- Spheal's evolution line, along with Dewgong, are the only Pokémon to have a "triple resistance", thanks to the Thick Fat ability.
Origin
Spheal is based on a seal with the appearance of a beach ball.
Name origin
Spheal's name is a combination of sphere, referring to its round shape, and seal. Its Japanese name is a combination of 球 tama, sphere, and 海豹 azarashi, seal.
