Abomasnow (Japanese: ユキノオー Yukinooh) is a dual-type Grass/Ice Pokémon.
It evolves from Snover starting at level 40.
Biology
Physiology
Abomasnow are large, white creatures covered in thick, white fur. Their feet and hands are dark green and they have short, dark green tails. As Abomasnow evolve from Snover, they grow two more green spikes on their backs for a total of four. These spikes resemble mountains or pinecones. Abomasnow have bushy mustaches covering their mouths, light-purple eyes and large, bushy eyebrows that stick out like antennae.
Gender differences
The fur on a female's chest is thicker than that of a male.
Special abilities
Abomasnow have the ability to sense snow from miles away. Not only can they sense it, but when Abomasnow get too angry or form in packs, they have the ability to create high and low pressure in the air resulting in small snow storms. Also, Abomasnow's feet allow them to clutch into the ground. Therefore, even the harshest winds cannot blow this Pokémon down.
Behavior
Abomasnow are a tad short-tempered. They can become very territorial, and because of this, they live solitarily high atop cold, icy mountain caps so that they can have their space. They are also very stiff Pokémon both mentally and physically. Because of this, they are sometimes hard to manage.
Habitat
Abomasnow dwell on snowy mountaintops.

Trivia
- Alongside its pre-evolution, Snover, as well as Exeggcute, Exeggutor, and Celebi, Abomasnow has the most weaknesses in the game, with 7 types super-effective against it.
- Abomasnow is the first Pokémon in alphabetical order, a title previously held by Abra.
- Abomasnow and Ludicolo, along with their pre-evolutions, are the only Template:Type2 Pokémon not weak to Template:Type2 moves, due to their secondary types.
- Out of all the Template:Type2 Pokémon, Snover and Abomasnow are the only two that cannot learn Sunny Day, possibly due to it being part Ice-type.
- Abomasnow is the only Pokémon so far with a base stat total of 494.
Origin
Abomasnow appears to be based on a cross between an evergreen tree covered in snow and a yeti.
Name origin
Abomasnow is a shortening of the name "Abominable Snowman", another name for the yeti. Yukinooh could mean 雪の王 yuki no ō, snow king.
In other languages
- German: Rexblisar - From rex (Latin for "king") and blizzard.
- French: Blizzaroi - From blizzard and roi (king).
- Korean: 눈설왕 Nunseolwang
- Chinese: 雪之王 Xue Zi Wang
