Spore (Japanese: キノコのほうし Mushroom Spore) is a non-damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I. Up until Generation III, it was Paras and Parasect's signature move.
Effect
Generation I-II
Spore puts the target to sleep. It will not affect a target that already has a major status ailment. In Stadium, Spore can't affect a target that has a Substitute.
Generation III and on
Spore's effects remain the same, except that now it can't affect targets with Insomnia or Vital Spirit as their ability.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
The user will make all Pokémon in the room fall asleep, all other effects are the same.
