Smashing Good Fun
Dudes, I noticed a few things about J. Judging from the following, I conclude that she might have been (as opposed to "was") based on the concept of the SSE villains.
- 1) J's gun turns her targets to stone, much like how the Dark Cannons turn their targets into trophies in the Subspace Emissary.
- 2) J's containers resemble Assist Trophies.
- 3) J's henchmen's vans bear some similarity to the Cargo that Wario uses in SSE.
- 4) We don't know who J's clients are, and nothing says J ever met them. Kinda like Ganondorf in SSE, who only met Tabuu after the fact (Wario and Bowser had been turned into trophies by this point, and thus didn't meet Tabuu until the very end.)
It's all speculation, of course, but it seems to have some merit. I'd add it to the article, but I want to know what YOU think about it. -- Shrikeswind
- I acually thought the same thing. --ケンジのガール 00:26, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
- I concur with the above, but it could just be them playing off the bounty hunter steryotype. I mean
- 1)Boba Fett turned Han Solo into ""Stone""
- 2) Henchmen? More like Clone troopers+Stormtroopers........
- 3)Looks like the Slave I to me, and functiosn similary.
- 4) We dont know the majority of boba fett's clients are. kinda like J in Pokemon--DCM((Shut the **** upSpy on My Edits))
- I see your point, although I notice a few details are inaccurate.
- 1) Vader froze Han in Carbonite, not Fett.
- 2) Yet again, inaccurate attribution. Vader controlled the Storm Troopers, not Fett.
- 3) No argument.
- 4) No argument.
- But still, you got a good point. -- Shrikeswind
- I see your point, although I notice a few details are inaccurate.
Never mind, actually. I didn't realize the day her episode aired was 11 months BEFORE Brawl was released. Still, though, the similarites are creepy. -- Shrikeswind
Stop the hell it!
I see J in the Anime Characters template again. But that's only one reappearance. I doubt she will be a regular antagonist. Well, she isn't even a proper villain. She's just some random lunatic woman who seems to hate her name (J isn't her proper name, is it?). She's EXACTLY like that infamous PMC. They were just a duo of intergalactic lunatics. Don't get too excited. It's just one reappearance. --Maxim 14:18, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- You said that we wouldn't see her a second time and now we have even more reason to believe she will return. Do you really think the writers would set up that mysterious man commanding her and not follow up on it? --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:09, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
J's voice
J is played by Hilary Thomas according to her profile on wikipedia.org
- Wikipedia doesn't note a source for that claim, though. It could be either... --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:18, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Too many pictures!!
Jeez guys!! We're getting crammed with pictures - tone it down a bit. Tina☆♥♫ 01:26, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- cough* The pictures are kinda my fault.......--File:Spr 3e 115.gifTheryguy512File:Spr 3e 202.gifFile:Spr 3e 327.gif 01:34, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Lookalike
She looks like Oakley. And they both have an Ariados... File:Ani137MS.gifTESHFile:Ani233MS.gifTALKFile:Ani474MS.gif 13:51, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe she's Annie and Oakley's mother. *slaps self for posting speculation* Couldn't help it.--☆ケンジガール 05:22, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Incorrect trivia
I don't want to mess things up any, so I'm not going to fix it, but the trivia section for this character is incorrect. Domino used an actual weapon (the energy beam function of her tulips) on both Pikachu and the clone Pikachu in Mewtwo Returns.--Hyperactivezero 14:39, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
J or Jay?
Yeah, this'll probably come off stupid, and I don't even know know why I wonder, but are we sure that they didn't pull a Simpsons and her name isn't actually Jay, not J? Yeah, like I said, probably stupid... Rawr I say! 20:38, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- The credits say JGood Day;DCM
- Closed captioning clearly said J. Unless something along the lines of DVD subtitles say otherwise (and they rarely do), we're sure we've got the right name. --Shiningpikablu252 20:41, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Ok. Like I saidm just sorta wondered if we actually had proof... Sorry for any inconvenience. Rawr I say! 20:50, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure that "Pokemon Hunter J" is derived from "Vampire Hunter D," so the J makes sense. Delamaine 01:20, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Stolen
Shouldn't we separate Pokémon stolen by her and the Pokémon saved by Ash? But I don't know how to do it.-Billy4b2004 09:37, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- No, that would be unnecessary and, most likely, will be reverted if anyone did it anyway. シンジShinjiLover,Edits 17:07, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
One Letter Name?
Okay... is she the only character to only have one letter in her name? If I'm forgetting someone, do tell... anyway if she is, we could use that on the page...--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 04:32, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Does Professor P count? ~ overgrownsol 04:58, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- He's an in-game character, unlike J. ►Ҝəυzø8 05:02, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Now..... I'm not sure..... I mean, HIS rank is said, but this page isn't called "HUNTER J", just "J"...--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 05:05, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- But "Professor" isn't entirely his name, so "P" is either his first or last name... And if we believe it's a last name like everything is, he would surely have a first name. But we never know if "J" is actually a first name, a surname, a nickname, or an abbreviation.. ~ overgrownsol 05:09, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- So, now, its confusing, a bit... still, would we say that she is the only character to have one letter as part of her name?--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 05:16, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- And another thing, I think Jupiter mentioned J in the end of DP97, so she might be part of Team Galactic... here's what she said... "I will then call on the Pokémon hunter at once"! I know its kinda speculation, but I think at least its something...--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 19:29, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

- (reset) Actually, I wouldn't be surprised to find out J's with Team Galactic sometime down the road. Associate, underling, someone's alter-ego, you never know...--Shiningpikablu252 23:08, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- It was at the end of the dub of DP 96... watch it online on YouTube or somewhere... its there... Although... Team Galactic just might be one of J's clients, now that I think about it for a little more... So, about the one letter name... can we still discuss that?--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 02:03, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- We'll just leave it at "J" then...--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 18:19, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Pokémon notability
I'm beginning to feel that it's actually Salamence that is J's most notable Pokémon rather than Drapion. It appeared in all the episodes that she did while Drapion was absent from her latest appearance. I think her Salamence deserves an article. Does this mean we delete Drapion or keep both? Need opinions. --ケンジのガール 21:26, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think it should be 1 or the other, and if Salamence is used more often, then her notable Pokémon should be Salamence. --PsychicRider☮ 21:35, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Name
Isn't "Pokémon Hunter J" more exactly? --Nick., something to say? 04:36, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- As far as we can tell, the "Pokémon Hunter" bit is a title not necessary to disambiguate. Now, in the event there was a different notable character named J, then that title would probably become necessary. --Shiningpikablu252 13:59, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Possible name reference?
Pokémon Hunter J, Vampire Hunter D. I dunno about anyone else, but I'm definitely sensing a resemblance there. Maaaybe she's a tribute to Vampire Hunter D or something? (just speculating..)
oh haha, someone said something about it up there. my bad. ^^; --Snowrunt ♥ ♥ 22:08, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
DP151
Did J escape? Chomper4 13:11, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Unknown. Her ship exploded but she was never seen getting off, nor was she seen afterwards. Right now her status is 'presumed dead'. Watchermark 17:09, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
- That's exactly what it is. Unknown. Therefore you can't go around saying she's dead either. When was the last time the anime undoubtedly killed anyone discounting the movies? Never actually. Cept for Ash who had the outer body experience. J's fate is unknown. --ケンジのガール 01:44, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
I've added to the article (as a hidden note in case anyone tries to edit it) that J is only missing, and should not be stated to be dead... and yes, I'm aware that I said the same thing myself on the DP151 article but that was due to misinformation I received. Watchermark 17:04, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
I believe that it is impossible that J has survived the incident. It has absolutely nothing to indicate that she has survived the explosion. And well ... Team Rocket is not officially parameter to something, considering that the logic of the real world do not apply to them. It is easier to consider it dead, unfortunately, than alive until proven otherwise. Hikaru Wazana 17:55, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look very good for J but she on Bulbapedia she is 'alive until proven dead' not vice-versa. The only way it'll ever get confirmed is if we see her dead body wash up next episode... so not likely. If we keep on like this, the page will only end up getting protected. Watchermark 20:46, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
ok guyzes, she is alive until proven dead. her whereabouts are currently unknown. no more talking about this. if you want to talk about it, the forums are where you go. -- MAGNEDETH 21:28, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Sir?
Isn't it weird that her henchmen consistantly refer to her as "sir" rather than "ma'am" or something? Is this a translation error? What do they call her in Japanese? Shipwreck Kelly 13:03, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- It's not weird at all. In the military the recruits call their superior officers sir, even if they're female. It's like that in most police forces too, although that's dying out because the police are getting less formal than they used to be. R.A. Hunter Blade 22:16, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Hunter J's cannon-thing...
I know it was never really made clear, seeing as humans were NEVER her target. But her stone cannon thingy; do we know weither or not it works on humans? Or is it just pokemon that it affects? Artbender 10:32, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Some informal names for J's "Wrist Cannon thing" so at least we don't have to just call it a "Cannon":
- Stone Cannon
- Cement Cannon (I thought I saw it somewhere here)
- Medusa Blaster (Named after the Female Monster of Greek Mythology whose gaze would turn her victims into stone)
- PetriBlaster/PetriCannon (Petrifying Blaster/Petrifying Cannon) --Arima 10:35, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
