Magmortar is the evolved form of Magmar. It looks like a buffed up humanoid creature with characteristics of a duck and salamander.
Its legs are similar to Magmar's except that Magmortar has pink thighs and its legs are smaller in proportion to its body than Magmar's, whose legs are in proportion to its own body (which is why Magmortar moves slower than Magmar). Instead of a beak and two flame-like horns it had as a Magmar, Magmortar has pink lips and one singular flame on its head. Its other notable features are the two rows of pink spikes running down its back, red and yellow flame stripes on its body and a tail that is entirely covered in flames.
Magmortar also has orange shoulder pads that resemble flames and yellow, tubular arms with a black band and three claws on each one. When Magmortar prepares to attack with hands, the claws may disappear into its skin, forming something similar to a cannon.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Magmortar can use any attack its pre-evolutions do, but obviously stronger. Magmortar can also use Thunderbolt, Earthquake, SolarBeam, and Rock Slide, which can help it to defeat Pokémon which it is weak to.
Behavior
It blasts fireballs of over 3,600 degrees F from the ends of its arms, its body taking on a whitish hue from the heat.
Habitat
Magmortar live in the deep, boiling-hot craters of volcanoes.
Magmortar, the Blast Pokémon and the evolved form of Magmar. It launches fireballs that can reach temperatures over three-thousand six-hundred degrees from the ends of its arms and lives in volcanic craters.
Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia: Magmortar is used by Lavana to protect the red circuit ball. Ice later borrows it to use in a three-way boss battle with Ice's Gallade and Heath's Rhyperior in the trio's efforts to thwart the player.

Magmortar is the only Fire-type introduced in Generation IV that is not a starter or legendary Pokémon.

Magmortar's base speed actually decreases 10 points after being evolved. This is similar to its counterpart, Electivire, as its base speed also goes down 10 points after evolving.
Magmortar can learn ThunderPunch, a move not of its type, in three different ways: as a starting move, by tutoring, and as an egg move. It shares this trait with its counterpart, Electivire, who learns Fire Punch in this manner.
Origin
Magmortar seems to be a buffed-up combination of a duck or booby with a mythical salamander of fire.
Name origin
Magmortar comes from magma and mortar, probably referring to how it shoots fireballs from its cannon-like arms. Booburn is based on the names of its pre-evolutions and the words booby and burn.
Chinese (Taiwan): 鴨嘴焰龍 Yā Zuǐ Yàn Lóng - Literally "Duck-billed flaming dragon". Shares the characters "鴨嘴" with the Chinese names of its pre-evolutionary forms, 小鴨嘴龍 Xiǎo Yā Zuǐ Lóng (Magby) and 鴨嘴火龍 Yā Zuǐ Huǒ Lóng (Magmar).
