Trivia

  • Of all the Pokémon that evolve by level alone, Monozu evolves to its final form, Sazando, later than any other Pokémon, evolving at level 64.
    • Monozu also evolves into its second form at level 50, later then any other Pokémon that evolves by level than can evolve again.

Origin

Monozu and its evolutionary line may be based upon the Lernaean Hydra of Greek Mythology, a beast that grew two more heads in its place if one was severed.

Name origin

Monozu's name probably derives from mono, a Greek prefix meaning one, and 頭 zu, Japanese for head, its full name literally reading "one head".
