(Japanese: バオッキー Baokkie) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

It evolves from Baoppu when exposed to a Fire Stone.

Biology

Physiology

Baokkie is a Fire-type, primate-like Pokémon that is primarily red in coloration. It has a swirled, flame-like crest on its head and broad ears to the sides of it. Baokkie also have white shoulder ruffs, and a cream-colored face, chest, hands and feet. Its arms, thighs and legs are red, and its tail is long, plume-like and swirled, resembling a flame.

It can burn opponents by scattering the fire inside its body from its head and tail.

Habitat

Baokkie live in volcanic caves.

Origin

Baokkie is based on a monkey and a flame. He, along with his two contemporaries, seem to be based on the three wise monkeys motif. Baokkie in this hand, represents "Hear No Evil."

Name origin

Baokkie's name may come from バースト bāsuto, meaning burst, and from monkey.
