Double Hit (Japanese: ダブルアタック Double Attack) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

Generation IV

Double Hit does damage, hitting twice per use.

Double Hit will hit twice even if it breaks a Substitute. Bide and Counter will only acknowledge one hit of this move.

Generation V

Unlike the previous generation, if Focus Sash, Focus Band, or Sturdy activate before the last hit is dealt, the following hit will cause the defending Pokémon to faint. Each hit will also cause Broken Armor to activate.

Other effects

An Aipom who knows this move will evolve into Ambipom when leveled up.
