Vespiquen (Japanese: ビークイン Beequeen) is a dual-type Bug/Flying Pokémon.
It evolves from female Combee starting at level 21.
Biology
Physiology
Vespiquen are bee-like Pokémon with yellow and black striped abdomen resembling an elegant ballroom gown. On the underside of the expansive abdomen are honeycomb-like cells that serve as a nest for baby Combee. It does appear, however, that they have a slender, more insect-like abdomen in the centermost cell, which is inconspicuous as the ‘skirt’ usually obstructs the view of it. Vespiquen have black, skinny arms with two orange claws and fly with a pair of relatively small wings on her orange shoulders. Their yellow upper bodies are a nearly perfect sphere and their waists are black and slender. Vespiquen's orange faces have intimidating, red eyes, oversized, yellow, protruding mandibles, and a red gem on her forehead that has grown significantly since being a Combee. The top portion of the head is similar to a headpiece of sorts with yellow and black horn-like projections, resembling a hairstyle favored by early English queens.
Gender differences
Vespiquen is a female-only species.
Special abilities
Vespiquen have three separate signature moves that involve summoning a swarm of baby Combee, which are stores in the honeycomb-like lower abdomen. One is for attacking, the second is for defending and the third is for recovering.
Behavior
Vespiquen are queens of hives of Combee, controlling it and protecting it, as well as giving birth to young Combee. A Vespiquen is far more powerful than her followers, and will only take action if her Combee are unable to protect the hive. If outsiders prove themselves to the Vespiquen by defending her hive, she may repay their acts of kindness with a reward.
Habitat
Vespiquen live in huge hives in the forests with their Combee followers.
