Trivia
- Haxorus is the only fully-evolved pure Dragon-type Pokémon in a three-stage evolutionary line.
- Like Flygon, Haxorus is commonly mistaken to be a pseudo-legendary Pokémon due to its evolutionary stage and typing.
- Haxorus has the highest Attack stat of all non-legendary Dragon-type Pokémon.
- Haxorus is the only Template:Type2 Pokémon in the yellow color group.
Origin
Its tusks are similar in appearance to Scutosaurid's or possibly Ceratopsid's cheekbone tusks and are also similar to battle axe blades. Its golden, armor-like scales may mean it might be based on an armadillo lizard.
Name origin
Haxorus is a combination of the words hack (to chop or cut down), axe, and Greek σαῦρος saurus, "lizard". Ononokus emphasises 斧 ono "axe" but also combines 戦く ononoku "trembled" and the literal translation for "axe", アックス akkusu.
