Lavender Town |
Lavender Town still does not have much going on, but the biggest change that occurred over the last three years was the conversion of Pokémon Tower to the Kanto Radio Tower.
Kanto Radio Tower
The tower security has been on alert ever since the other Radio Tower was infiltrated by Team Rocket, so no one is allowed beyond the ground floor.
In order to access all three of Kanto's radio programs, Trainers will need to obtain an
EXPN Card for their Pokégear. While it can already detect two of the three programs, the EXPN Card is required to get the Poké Flute channel:
- 16.5 - Places & People
- Hosted by DJ Lily, "Places & People" is a talk show that discusses various locations and Trainers that you've encountered.
- 18.5 - Let's All Sing
- Hosted by DJ Fern, "Let's All Sing" plays music that depends on the day of the week.
- On Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, the Pokémon March increases the chance of encountering wild Pokémon.
- On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the Pokémon Lullaby decreases the chance of encountering wild Pokémon.

- 20.0 - Poké Flute Channel
- The main use for this channel is to awaken the Snorlax that has fallen asleep near Vermilion City, blocking the southern end of Diglett's Cave.
With the Fuchsia beach littered with boulders, Diglett's Cave is the only other way to reach western Kanto.

Unfortunately, the Power Plant isn't up to it's normal output levels, so you won't be able to get the EXPN Card until you investigate.

Soul House |
The Soul House was set-up in order to accommodate the remains of Pokémon transferred from the former Pokémon Tower.
While there are only a handful of graves in the building, most are located in underground chambers that only Mr. Fuji has access to.
Name Rater
The Name Rater is found in the southeast house, and allows Trainers to re-name their Pokémon.
However, Trainers are unable to re-name Pokémon they obtained in a trade.
Go north to Route 10.

Route 10 |
Route 10 is a short route with only two Trainers that connects Lavender Town to Rock Tunnel.
The Power Plant is located here, but can only be accessed by surfing the river from the north end of Rock Tunnel.
Bring a Pokémon that knows Flash to light up Rock Tunnel, or it won't be easy getting to the exit.

Rock Tunnel
A few rare Pokémon species, displaced from the shut-down Safari Zone, now inhabit Rock Tunnel.
This is great news for Trainers, since elusive Pokémon like Marowak and Kangaskhan may appear.

Emerging from the cave, you find yourself near a Poké Center. If you ask around, you'll learn that the Power Plant's manager is looking for a strong Trainer to recover something that was stolen.
Bring a surfer to the north end of the river, and swim south to find the Power Plant.

Power Plant
The old abandoned Power Plant was finally renovated in order to power the region more efficiently, and what happens? Some thief swiped an essential part of the new generator, rendering it inoperable.
The Magnet Train consumes such large amounts of electricity, it is forced to shut down indefinitely.
When you head for the exit, the first security guard announces that a shady character has spotted loitering near Cerulean City, and asks you to check it out.
Head northwest to the rest of Route 9, and Cerulean City.
