Trivia
- Sawk is the only Pokémon to learn Rock Smash by leveling up.
- Sawk and Throh draw parallels to the Generation I Pokémon Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, in that they are male-only Template:Type2 Pokémon that appear to be related to each other.
- Sawk, along with Throh, Rufflet, Braviary, Tauros, and the Hitmons, is one of the few gendered non-legendary Pokémon naturally occurring in the wild that cannot reproduce without a Ditto.
- Sawk learns only physical and status moves by level, and only Normal and Fighting type moves.
Origin
Sawk is based on a Karate fighter and an Oni.
Name origin
Sawk is a corruption of to sock, meaning to punch. Dageki's name is likely derived from 打撃 dageki, blow, strike.
