Chinese (Taiwan) names

The Official Taiwanese Pokémon Anime Distributor Website has already revealed the movie in Chinese and Zoroa & Zoroark's Mandarin Chinese names. Zoroa is 索羅亞 Suǒluóyà and Zoroark is 索羅亞克 Suǒluóyàkè. They're basically phonetic transliterations of their Japanese names. Hope that someone with powers will add them. --Maxim 14:36, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Back Sprite

Nintendo has officialy revealed the beta back sprite for this Pokémon, so shouldn't somebody add it to it's list of sprites? - unsigned comment from Pawsrent (talkcontribs)

I'm sure if they were going to they would've

also dont forget to sign your comments with 4 tildes (~) <-- like this

(Ataro 02:25, 11 May 2010 (UTC))

They revealed him in battle, but the actual sprite is stretched due to the 2.5D. Just wait. We don't need to rush anything. Blake Talk·Edits 03:22, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Ability

The ability has been revealed, so should I edit it in the page? Don't Hug Lucario

I have seen no official source giving the ability; I've only seen it in Japanese blogs. Unless an official source has surfaced in the past two hours? 梅子 16:45, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

coro coro said it's ability is "Illusion" and that it allows him to transform - unsigned comment from Vkickass (talkcontribs)

There is nothing that says anything about Zoroark's ability on the CoroCoro scans that have been leaked. Unless there are other pages that have not been leaked yet? 梅子 20:17, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
The ability is rumored not confirmed. Please just wait. —darklordtrom 20:24, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
It's confirmed now. Serebii and Pokebeach both have scans saying so. Zorua's got the same ability. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 20:57, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Once again, you are bringing serebii thing. Serebii isn't an official source neither Pokébeach. I can't speak/read japanese but Umeko can, so she is probably right. Anyway, what is wrong in waiting for an official announcement? Nothing then please wait. Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 09:45, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
It's not the websites themselves, it's the scans that confirm it o.o; ... It IS Illusion, and IS officially confirmed, that's what the magazine is for :/ Not being officially confirmed isn't really a good enough excuse for not having it up right now (Yaminokame 09:51, 14 May 2010 (UTC))
I also resent the incinuation that I post things that aren't true. I make sure to check these facts before I post them. The stuff came from CoroCoro. You yourselves choose CoroCoro as a valid source. You CANNOT just pick and choose what bits you accept on a whim. For example, you guys posted the starter names before we had it confirmed, and yet you hesitate on an ability for which there were screenshots demonstrating Zoroark using it. Get some consistency and please use your heads. You're meant to be the a popular Pokémon site on the net. Start acting like it. --Serebii 09:59, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Joe, you know very well that the issue isn't whether or not what you post is true. It's that we can't rely on you as a source. We have our own Japanese speakers to translate sources for us. Nobody is saying you post false info. But we just like to check for ourselves, same way you wouldn't post stuff just because they showed up on Bulbanews. --electAbuzzzz 10:24, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
I do agree with Joe though... that was a bit uncalled for to be so harsh, Adyniz. He and Pokébeach try to report as accurately as possible. And Joe, yes, a lot of Bulbagarden users have an imaginary rivalry with Serebii. We all know. News is hard work to keep sane doing. Rivalry can be a good thing. It makes everybody double check facts just to prove that it is true, and people can catch mistakes that way. R.A. Hunter Blade 20:49, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

"This sprite is fake."

Well, it isn't anymore. Should we take off that annotation? Reign 19:01, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Well, it might be a beta sprite, so it still should probably be taken off, like you said. Pokemonemerfan1954 19:44, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

I'd like to bring this back up. The "this sprite is fake" message really needs to be taken down. CuboneKing 03:30, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Transform is Confirmed, right?

In the Pokémon Sunday video, we see Zourark use Transform, right? SpecialK Leiks Lucario and the Celebi Glitch 12:23, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

That was it's ability, Illusion (Yaminokame 12:28, 16 May 2010 (UTC))
Then we need a page about the ability, correct? I'll make it if someone tells me how illusion works. Is it, Zourark appears AS the opposing Pokémon? Or is it it changes into it after a turn? Or what?SpecialK Leiks Lucario and the Celebi Glitch 12:46, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
No, not until we know what it does. When we know that it does something more specific than "Zoroark looks like opposing Pokémon" it will be made.--SnorlaxMonster 13:15, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Zoroark and Zordrak

When you say that Zoroark is a Kitsune reminds me of the movie 'Pom Poko,' as it too had a fox in it. Also, I know that this is a stupid question, but a lot of people told me to tell you that you should put Zordrak from The Dreamstone in the name origin, saying that their names are similar but not related! - User:Cynthia149 09:21, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

We've been over this before. We're not adding Zodrak to the name origin.--Pokélova! 08:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Very well, but other people will soon find out by looking at the resembelance of it's name!!? - User:Cynthia149 16:26, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
If their names are similar but not related, it is not going in the name origin. Because it's a coincidence. So what if they both end in "ark" and begin with "Zo"? It is not going into the name origin, it is not going into trivia or anywhere on the page. Zoroark's name is from "zorro" (fox) and "dark". Not a British TV show from 15 years ago. Please stop asking about this, because the answer is not going to change. ▫▫ティナ 16:03, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

English name!!!

Anyone gone to Pokebeach today? According to them, Zoroark.com redirects to Pokemon.com, meaning that it keeps its japanese name! Should the article reflect this or something? - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 14:15, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

OMG it does!!! And it doesn't go to pokemon.co.jp either!!! Pokemonemerfan1954 14:29, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

I believe it's the name, but I can't do anything bout the page bcuz i'm not a mod :/ MB17

It's just a redirect, doesn't mean anything.--ForceFire 14:52, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
It does. Zoroark.com, Reshiram.com and Zekrom.com all redirects to Pokémon.com's B/W site, unlike Tsutarja.com, Pokabu.com and Mijumaru.com, which all redirects to Melbourne IT. I'm quite sure Zoroark.com would redirect to Melbourne IT as well if it wasn't supposed to be named that in English. - unsigned comment from FireMeowth (talkcontribs)
How 'bout we wait for official confirmation?--Pokélova! 16:47, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
Well, my Official Nintendo Magazine - Australia and New Zealand 18 June 2010 issue page 006 names Zoroark and Zorua as those names. Compare this to the 17 May 2010 issue pages 030 and 031 where Pokémon Ranger: Locus of Light is referred to as Pokémon Ranger 3, and noted to be roughly translated to Path of Light or Tracks of Light. This shows that it is highly likely to be the English name. However, I have not purchased this magazine during periods where other new Pokémon were being revealed, so I cannot compare it to the releases of Sinnoh Pokémon. --SnorlaxMonster 10:02, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I haven't got my issue yet. :| And the mag started after Gen IV was already out so yeah.--Pokélova! 10:07, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Isn't time to add all the B/W sprites/backsprites in the Pokémon articles? (Couldn't find any other place to write this...) --Icy 14:41, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Uh... this is NOT the place to write this. You're supposed to create a new section at the bottom of the page. As for the sprites, we'll get them when we get them. --AndyPKMN 17:39, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Scary Face

Hey, can one of you administrators put down the fact it can learn Scary Face? It used it in a recent trailer. It and Zorua also have other moves which can be translated from screenshots. MAMOSWINEPwnz! (Torngentleman2) 10:02, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Zoroark seems to have fused with kabuki.

Kabuki is classical Japanese dance-drama. 連獅子(Renjishi) seems to correspond.

Korean

Zoroark's Korean name revealed. As expected, it's 조로아크 (RR: Joroakeu, MC-R: Choroak'ŭ, Yale: Coloakhu), which is a transliteration of Zoroark, of course. This way, Zorua is probably 조로아 but it's not confirmed and I don't want to assume. --Maxim 09:08, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Reshiram?

Why is Reshiram right after Zoroark? --Landfish7 16:50, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

See Talk:Reshiram_(Pokémon)#zoroark listing. This will be changed when an admin gets to it. --SnorlaxMonster 07:34, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Bad Trivia, bad, bad!

Hey. Trivia + Zoroark pararrel Lucario + bad idea.--444Zekrom 10:38, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

I don't see a problem. --SnorlaxMonster 10:43, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
It was just a rumor. And fan rumor, too.--444Zekrom 10:46, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Yet it's still somewhat valid, particularly the part about them both being featured as the subject of a movie prior to their generation. I think it can stay. --AndyPKMN 11:54, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Oh, alright.--444Zekrom 07:37, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Gender

On the page it says that Zoroark is more likely to be male. In Lost Forest it is 100% female. Is the 87.5% male thing supposed to be for when the event Zorua evolves? —♫Zekasaur♫ 01:00, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

the one in lost forest is female because the movie zoroark is female..Ataro 01:05, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Behaviour

Should we add that it is considered a specific behaviour that Zoroark have that their eyes glow when they are angry, probably to warn foes to stay back? or something along those lines? --Landfish7 02:48, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

If their eyes do indeed glow for that purpose, I don't see why not. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 02:53, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Final?

Is Zoroark's English Name final? I mean they won't change it at the last minute? Will they? --- unsigned comment from Mr.Char (talkcontribs)

It's been confirmed that Zorua and Zoroark will remain the same in English... -- Aura24 00:58, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Evolution

When it was revealed in CoroCoro and mentioned in later issues prior to release, it was mentioned that Zorua would evolve into Zoroark by a brand new method, yet when the games were released, Zorua simply evolves into Zoroark at Level 30 with no other special conditions. Is it worth trivia? Shiramu Kuromu 18:00, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

I think it would be. --SnorlaxMonster 11:41, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
I added it to the page now, so how do I put this as a source?

http://pokebeach.com/2010/02/new-pokemon-revealed-zorua-zoroark I know other fansites can't be used for info, but when I looked up the article on Bulbanews on Zoroark, it didn't have any translations of the line in question: “Could we see a new method of evolution!?”. It's on the pages both Pokemon were revealed on, but it wasn't noticed on Bulbanews for some reason so I had to find it from the PokeBeach article on it. Shiramu Kuromu 20:23, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Zoroaaku

Why is the search menu Zoroaaku instead of Zoroark? --Maii 23:25, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Both Zoroaaku and Zoroark redirect here. They both work. The former is just a more literal transliteration of its Japanese name. --SnorlaxMonster 14:06, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Name Origin

"Also may come from 悪, aku (evil)."

How does that make any sense? Yes, it has an "a" and a "k" in its name, but they're not even in order. King Riolu 21:43, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Basic romanization of Zoroark is Zoroaaku. --ケンジガール 21:51, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Zoroark and Ditto

I discovered that Ditto cannot transform into Zoroark when it is in the illusion form. I battled several wild one's in Pokemon Black with my Zoroark in the illusion form of Reshiram and another pokemon. When the Ditto would try to use transform the game would say the move failed. Thus Ditto could not attack my Zoroark at all.- unsigned comment from ZoroarkRuless11 (talkcontribs)

This has already been discussed. :--SuperAipom7 (Questions?) 13:53, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
