HTML
is there any way to do html on a page?
Shiny Rayquaza 14:19, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Which HTML elements do you want to use? Some elements may have equivalents in MediaWiki markup: for example, use
'''x'''
instead of<strong>x</strong>
or[http://example.com Example]
instead of<a href="http://example.com/">Example
, or----
instead of<hr>
, or MediaWiki table markup instead of<table>
. Some other elements work in MediaWiki already, such as<div>
,<span>
,<del>
,<br>

Question
Why does the page have the incomplete template, Yet it is protected?Shiny Rayquaza 20:07, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- I'm wondering the same thing. I was about to add info on underlining and such, but the page was protected. But what i can get from it, the page was protected because people add false information. But i'm not sure. ShinyPikachu 00:38, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've taken the tag off for now; it doesn't really need much added to it, not enough to warrant the tag at least.
- And it's protected because it's a higher target for vandalism, as well as like you said; it's supposed to be one of the first pages a user might read through when they start editing, so it's double-important that it not be edited by everyone.
- If you've got stuff you think should be added, feel free to post it here, and I'll just move it over to the article itself. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 13:32, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Interwiki links from Archives back to Bulbapedia
Apparently, the help pages at Bulbagarden Archives redirect to these help pages at Bulbapedia. But the section "Incomplete list of interwiki prefixes" doesn't list any way to interwiki link from a file description on Archives back to relevant Bulbapedia articles. I first guessed b:, bulba:, bulbapedia:, and :en:, none of which worked. Nor does the extension to list all interwiki prefixes appear to be installed. After a couple more tries, during which I contemplated using external link syntax or just citing the titles of the relevant Bulbapedia articles without any link syntax, I finally guessed that bp: is the correct interwiki prefix to link from Archives to Bulbapedia. Could an administrator add this to "Incomplete list of interwiki prefixes"? --Tepples 19:18, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

- A table of contents is automatically added when you have enough sections on the page. It goes above the first section header of the page. You can place it on the page yourself by putting

Is there a way to upload an external image into an infobox? I'm trying to do that on my userspace and it isn't working. I get this.

These represent my current games. | |
Gender | Female |

Hometown | Twinleaf Town, Littleroot Town |
Region | Sinnoh, Hoenn |

This seems to be the problem area. image=http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/126/3/4/platinum_dawn_emerald_may_comb_by_avianalia-d3fq7v3.png|

I have no idea why this is. Help? Ikarishipper900 21:06, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- It's to do with the way the infobox is set up. You cannot do it, as the image would need to be uploaded to the archives. You will need to get the code of the template and modify it from there (put {{subst:CharInfobox| at the start). --SnorlaxMonster 15:10, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- Brain......... hurts. Put it at the start of where? Sorry, I'm still learning the coding stuff. Ikarishipper900 21:40, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- I mean put {{subst:CharInfobox| instead of {{CharInfobox|. It will replace it with raw code once you save the page. From there, you can modify it to suit your needs. The problem is that those templates are not designed for use in the userspace, so they often need to be tweaked to work. --SnorlaxMonster 11:17, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Ohhh. Okay. I think I can manage that and I will try soon. Thanks! :) Ikarishipper900 11:50, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Templates: How on Earth am I Supposed to Edit them!?!?
Alright, so, before we begin, I'll just get one thing out of the way: Important information is in RED.
Okay, so here's the thing: I'm making my userpage and I'm putting in all kinds of usertags and I'm amking sure that they're all really neat and organized, but when I came to the "Battle Revolution Friend Code" Tag, It says on it: "This user's Wii friend code for Pokémon Battle Revolution is {{{1}}}." Now, the thing is, I can't figure out how to edit the {{{1}}} thing (which I recently found out is called a "template") so that I can put in my FC! All of the editing help topics on templates only describe what they are, where they are used, and how to insert one into an edit! THEY ARE (pretty much) NO HELP TO ME AT ALL!!! I want to know how to change the default text inside the braces (these things → {}) so that I can make my FC appear! How on Earth do I do this?!?!? I need help!!! :°( I seriously don't know how to edit wikis that much, so I know for a fact that I'll DEFINITELY need IN-DEPTH instructions on how the heck I edit templates. I've only been a BP user since 10/10/2010, and I only started making edits on 1/10/2011, so I'm pretty new at this stuff. So basically, I need help with editing templates and I need help from ANYONE with a lot of knowledge about them! So, I guess that's it. Someone, ANYONE, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

{{User Battle Revolution Code|#####}}
. <Copy and paste. Of course, you'd change the number signs to your friend code. --☆ヨッシ ー の世界☆ 21:07, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Thanks a bunch! You sure saved my Userpage! Thanks so much! I just never knew how to do that before, so I'm just happy that I know now. Thanks again!
