Torrent (Japanese: げきりゅう Raging Rapids) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Seventeen Pokémon have this Ability, all of which are Water types. All Water-type starter Pokémon have this Ability.
Effect
In battle
Torrent increases the power of Water-type moves by 50% (1.5×) when the ability-bearer's HP falls below a third of its maximum (know in-game as 'in a pinch').
Outside of battle
Torrent has no effect outside of battle.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Torrent will deal double the damage if the Pokémon using it is below 25% of its HP.
Pokémon Conquest
In Pokémon Conquest, Torrent will increase user's Attack if the Pokémon using it is below ⅓ of its HP.
