ゥ is a dual-type Normal/Ground glitch Pokémon in Pokémon Red and Blue. As this was one of the first glitch Pokémon discovered that contained Japanese text in its name, it was often called "Japanese Symbol" by those unfamiliar with katakana writing system.
It has an identification number of 205 and evolves into Spearow at Level 9. Its Pokémon Yellow counterpart is ♀ . It can be obtained through the Johto guard glitch with Meganium, or by trading ♀ . from Yellow. It has a higher base stat total than any known non-glitch Pokémon.
It will always freeze the game upon encountering in the wild, so it cannot be obtained through the Mew glitch. Its cry is a slowed-down version of Psyduck's.
