Effect
This move effect may be in need of research. Reason: Does it steal stat boosts from Pokemon that use Dig/Fly/Dive/Bounce? Can it miss a Pokemon that raised its Evasion? You can discuss this on the talk page. |
Spectral Thief causes the user to steal the target's stat boosts and then do damage. It also bypasses substitutes. Spectral Thief will only steal enough boosts to reach +6 stages in each stat; if the sum of the user's existing stat boosts and the target's stat boosts exceeds +6 in a stat, the target will retain any excess boosts. If the user has the Ability Simple, then the stolen stat boosts will be doubled; if the user has the Ability Contrary, then the stat boosts will be inverted. Although it does damage after it steals boosts, it cannot steal stat boosts from Normal-type Pokémon.
