(Japanese: 南井健太 Kenta Minamii) is the main character of Aim to Be a Card Master!!, a manga series taking place in the real world. Kenta is a player of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. After being bored of playing with his friends, he goes, at the advice of his friend Natsuki Shibata, to the Pokémon Center in Tokyo where he meets a young boy named Shou Okabe who defeats him easily. He decides to train until he's good enough to become a champion of the game.

Charizard is a Pokémon that Kenta commonly played in many of his TCG matches.
Scyther briefly appeared during the battle with Shou Okabe.
Ditto appeared in Kenta's match with Shou to transform into various Pokémon.
Electabuzz was used in the match against Vanessa Crawford.
Articuno was used alongside Electabuzz during Kenta's match against Vanessa.
Blastoise first appeared as a Squirtle offscreen during Kenta's match against Vanessa Crawford.
Electrode briefly appeared during the match with Vanessa.
