Liza's Lunatone (Japanese: ランのルナトーン Lan's Lunatone) is a Pokémon owned by Liza in the games, anime, and manga.
In the anime
Lunatone is the Pokémon Liza uses in all Gym battles. It first appeared in It's Still Rocket Roll to Me!, where it faced off against Tate's Solrock. Lunatone was dominating the battle until Solrock launched a Solar Beam. However, Lunatone's Ice Beam froze Solrock and defeated it. It was later used to battle Team Rocket, once again using Ice Beam to freeze them.
In Solid as a Solrock!, Lunatone was sent out alongside Solrock in a Double Battle against Ash's Pikachu and Swellow. Lunatone and Solrock had the advantage at first since they dominated their opponents, but an accidental clash of Solar Beam and Ice Beam caused Tate and Liza to fight. Additional collisions caused the siblings to continue their fighting, which gave Swellow the advantage to attack unnoticed the first time.
Team Rocket interrupted the battle and stole Lunatone along with Solrock, but they were both rescued with the combined efforts of Pikachu and Swellow. The battle was continued outside afterwards. Once again, Lunatone was able to dominate the battle, by blocking Pikachu's attacks with Light Screen. Pikachu's and Swellow's use of Thunder Armor allowed them to defeat Lunatone and earned Ash the Mind Badge.
Personality and characteristics
Very little is known about Lunatone's personality except for the fact that it doesn't get into arguments with Tate's Solrock unlike their Trainers sometimes.

Lunatone is Liza's main Pokémon. It was first seen in I'm Always Grumpig First Thing in the Morning II traveling with its Trainer on Mt. Pyre. Lunatone was used in conjunction with Solrock against the Team Magma Grunts that were aiming to steal the Red and Blue Orbs. Despite their best efforts, the Grunts were only illusions created by Blaise, who easily got past his opponents and stole the orbs.
