Heracross was Koromi's first known Pokémon. It was used to battle Ash in the World Coronation Series where it went up against Pikachu, only to be defeated.

Heracross assisted Koromi, Goh and Ash in searching for a Pinsir, before he battled Team Rocket and sent them blasting off. Once Goh caught a Pinsir, his Pinsir had fallen in love with Heracross so Goh agreed to trade his newly caught Pinsir for Heracross.
