Haru stands near the edge of a boat approaching an island called the Pokémon Resort. In a voiceover, she recounts her negative experiences of the past week: her boyfriend broke up with her, she fumbled two presentations at her previous job, and she stepped on gum twice. The boat lands at the island, and she is greeted by a Bulbasaur, who gives her a lei, and Ms. Watanabe. Watanabe escorts Haru through the lobby of the Pokémon Resort to the pool area. There, she explains the purpose of the Pokémon Resort and Haru's role as a Pokémon concierge.
