Flavor text Generation VII Turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon enters a battle. Generation VIII Turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon enters a battle. Generation IX Turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon enters a battle.

Grassy Surge (Japanese: グラスメイカー Grass Maker) is an Ability introduced in Generation VII. Prior to Generation VIII, it was the signature Ability of Tapu Bulu.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Grassy Surge enters the battle, it creates the effect of the move Grassy Terrain on the battlefield.

Outside of battle

Grassy Surge has no effect outside of battle.
