Normalize (Japanese: ノーマルスキン Normal Skin) is an Ability introduced in Generation IV. It is the signature Ability of Skitty and Delcatty.
Effect
In battle
Normalize makes all moves (including status moves) used by the Pokémon with this Ability become Normal-type instead of their usual type.
If Normalize makes Thunder Wave a Normal-type move, Thunder Wave can affect Ground-type Pokémon but not Ghost-type Pokémon, unless the Ghost-type Pokémon is holding a Ring Target or is affected by Foresight or Odor Sleuth.
If the move Flying Press is affected by Normalize, it deals Normal/Flying-type damage. If the move Freeze-Dry is affected by Normalize, it will still do super effective damage against Water-type Pokémon.
If a Pokémon with Normalize is under the effect of Electrify or Ion Deluge, all of its moves become Electric-type rather than Normal-type.
Generation IV
Hidden Power, Weather Ball, Natural Gift, and Judgment are affected by Normalize.
Generations V and VI
Hidden Power, Weather Ball, Natural Gift, Judgment, and Techno Blast are not affected by Normalize.
Generation VII onwards
Normal-type moves used by the Pokémon with this Ability now receive a 20% power boost, except moves that cannot be affected by Normalize. This boost applies to both moves that are originally Normal-type and moves that become Normal-type due to Normalize.
Multi-Attack, Terrain Pulse and damaging Z-Moves are not affected by Normalize.
Outside of battle
Normalize has no effect outside of battle.

In other games
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series
Normalize changes all moves into Normal type.
In Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, and the Mystery Dungeon (WiiWare) games, Normalize also turns the standard attack into a Normal-type move. It also makes throwing items deal Normal-type damage. This does not apply to items that deal fixed damage, although it does affect Vacuum-Cut.
