Thank you, and have a good time editing here! FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:23, 5 October 2021 (UTC) |
The Preview Button
Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:23, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
Arceus (game)
Please stop repeatedly making this edit. If you don't even plan on putting in any content, it adds zero value to the page. TehPerson (talk) 06:49, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
Spelling mistakes
Hi, please remember to review your edits for spelling mistakes before publishing them. "Wich" is technically an English word (though very archaic) and might not be getting picked up by your spellcheck for that reason, but you mean to write "which". Minibug (talk) 21:47, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi again, please remember to check your spelling or use a spellcheck before committing edits, as I noticed you're still spelling "which" as "wich". Minibug (talk) 00:13, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
Giratina (game)
As stated in the article itself, it is unknown if Giratina in Diamond and Pearl, Platinum, and Legends: Arceus are the same entity. Without that connection, I don't think Giratina (game) is suited for the mainspace. That being said, instead of deleting your article, I'm moving it to User:Trainersurrel0409/Giratina (game), where you can edit it to your liking as a draft. - Chosen (Talk) 18:07, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Hi there!
Just a few tips based on your recent edits.
1.) If you didn't know, Ability is always capitalized. Also, the manual of style has a helpful section listing common capitalizations as well as other sections that I think might be useful to you.
2.) I'd advise not to use piped links in the way that you did in this edit. Editors shouldn't have to open a link to find out what is being referred to, and mobile users are not able to hover over the text to check either. Additionally, multiple links right next to each other are difficult to distinguish. Instead, try to link in a way that is transparent about what is being linked to.
3.) I'd just like to give you another reminder to preview your edits for things such as spelling and grammar mistakes, and to consider editing a page all at once rather than editing by section. This keeps edit feeds such as the page history and recent changes cleaner and easier to track.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or another staff member. We're here to help! Landfish7 05:05, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- As mentioned previously, please remember that the word "which" is not spelled "wich". Landfish7 20:31, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oh i'm sorry, as far as i've seen, both which and wich work the same way. Trainersurrel0409 20: 43, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- As minibug mentioned previously, "wich" is a real word, and therefore will not be flagged by spellcheck, but it's an archaic word and has a different meaning than "which". You will likely never need to use the word "wich" in any context, so always include the 'h' i.e. "which".Landfish7 20:56, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oh i'm sorry, as far as i've seen, both which and wich work the same way. Trainersurrel0409 20: 43, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
Link templates
Hi, I noticed you tend to use a lot of piped links, things like Terapagos
, but we have a lot of templates that can quickly link to pages like these. As an example, instead of the above, you can write Terapagos
.
The full list of link templates can be found at Bulbapedia:List of link templates.
--Minibug (talk) 12:10, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- I've noticed you're still using things like
Elio
and wanted to remind you we have link templates to make things like this easier and more compact -Minibug (talk) 00:04, 7 December 2023 (UTC)- Here's a link to an explainer about link templates that should hopefully make it clear what they are and why they are so important to Bulbapedia's style: Bulbapedia:Link templates. Hope this helps. Landfish7 00:23, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
- You are still neglecting to use link templates. Have you studied them? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:49, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Trainer class
Hi. Just thought I'd let you know, Trainer classes are the titles that Trainers have when battled. If a character is never battled, such as Professor Magnolia, then they do not have a Trainer class. Landfish7 00:27, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
Removing info
Hi, to be clear this is not an official warning, but just meant to be a helpful tip. When editing pages, try not to remove or simplify info unless the info you're removing is confirmed to be incorrect or agreed by the wiki community to be unnecessary. If you're not sure, you can always ask about it on the talk page of the relevant article, or you can ask a staff member. We like to try to include as much useful info as possible, so while it may be seem helpful to condense and simplify the way information is displayed, we want to make sure we're not losing anything of use in the process. I hope this helps, and feel free to ask me if you have any questions. Landfish7 12:58, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
The Preview Button, again
Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:59, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry, the problem about it is that there's no option to edit a whole page in the phone, only a section at a time, weird right? Trainersurrel0409 (talk) 15:13, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
- There should be. If you don't find one, try switching to desktop view and try again. See if that helps. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:18, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
- If you want, there's an option in the mobile website's settings, where you can turn on "Advanced editing". It will show an edit button for the whole page. See mw:Reading/Web/Advanced mobile contributions for more. → PikaTepig999 20:20, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

Archives talk page
You have not responded to any of the posts on your talk page over on Bulbagarden Archives. Have you read them? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:31, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
- Just want to emphasis this message, if we leave messages on your talk page, we would like a response because if you continue, it looks like you are ignoring us.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 09:38, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
Oh? Ok sorry, i actually never got notified by them, i didn't even know i had those. Trainersurrel0409 (talk) 20:07, 27 December 2023 (UTC)
Incomplete sections
If you're adding some sections to a page, please add incomplete
or sectionstub
instead of just writing tba..
if you do not have the time to complete those sections at the moment. This helps other editors to find and complete them, and also looks better. → PikaTepig999 04:16, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
Yes i got that now. Trainersurrel0409 (talk) 21:51, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
Spoilers
Please don't add spoilers to public edit summaries. I'm sure there are users who use the page but wish to go unspoiled of the DLC epilogue, me included. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:37, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
- But wasn't that in the Spoiler part of the server? Trainersurrel0409 (talk) 21:50, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
- All edits show up in the recent changes feed, so any spoilers you leave in edit summaries are visible to anyone who keeps track of recent changes to the wiki. It is not against the rules to mention spoilers in your edit summaries, though it may be courteous to avoid them where possible regardless. Landfish7 22:13, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
Oh ok then, i'll try to then. Trainersurrel0409 (talk) 22:37, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
Link templates
Hey just a reminder to use link templates where possible. There's a list of them here that I think would be beneficial for you to read. In particular, instead of linking to the Pokémon (species) page with Pokémon
, please link to the page using OBP
like so Pokémon
. Additionally, instead of linking to status conditions such as like this badly poisoned
, instead link using status
like so Poison
. Thank you. Landfish7 20:04, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
Archives message
Just poking you to let you know you have a new message over at the Archives. Please read it here → [1] Landfish7 20:13, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
Creating pages about characters
I don't want to discourage you from editing whatever you want to edit, but please be aware that probably not all minor characters need their own article on Bulbapedia. (For Ogerpon's companion specifically, as you might have seen, there was consensus both on discord and on the wiki that it wasn't needed.)
Just so you know, I've moved the articles to your userspace for the time being, here and here. (You can always start working on pages in your userspace, too, and tag them with mainspace
so they can be evaluated for mainspace.) Nescientist (talk) 21:55, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
Hey just a couple quick notes
Hi there! Just wanted to let you know, when editing, make sure to be mindful of capitalization. For instance, words like human are always uncapitalized. Additionally, I thought I'd let you know when listing things, always include a serial comma; that is, include a comma before the word "and". For example, "I went to the park with my friends Nate, Jacob, and Bob."
For more info about Bulbapedia's style, feel free to read the handy-dandy manual of style, which gives instructions and guidelines on how Bulbapedia articles are intended to be written. If you have any questions, feel free to contact a staff member such as myself. Hope this helps! Landfish7 21:56, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
Helpful tips
While editing, please be sure to remember some helpful details:
- Try to avoid adding redirect links if possible. While previewing your edits, check any links you've added to make sure they're not redirects.
- Use link templates to make adding links and avoiding redirect links easier. The most notable ones I can think of are
p
for Pokémon species,m
for moves,a
for Abilities, andTP
for Pokémon owned by someone. - If you want to bolden or italicize your link text, you can do it like this: Example, instead of like this: Example.
Hopefully these advice will be helpful. Have a nice day. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:19, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
Hi there!
I've noticed your passion for editing, especially for articles relating to Legendary Pokémon and other rare Pokémon. This is great to see! I think you could be a great help in Project Pokédex, which aims to create and expand the very types of pages you enjoy editing.
That being said, in order for us to work together more successfully, I ask that you make sure to use your talk page. Users and staff have left you a lot of helpful tips, but it's hard to tell if you've read them, as you have not been responding recently, and your edits don't show that you're taking the advice that has been given to you. Be aware that using talk pages and working together as a community is an important part of the Bulbapedia experience.
Additionally, please put more careful thought into your edits. Taking a moment to look over your edits before saving will help make sure your edits meet Bulbapedia's standards. Use the preview button to check your edits for spelling and grammar. On mobile, a preview will appear first, and you can click the back button on the top left of your screen to make more changes before saving. Consider reading your edits out loud to help spot any issues, and you can make sure that your browser's spell check is turned on, which will put a line under any errors.
Lastly, don't be afraid to ask for help! We have a great community here and on the forums and Discord server that would be happy to discuss changes to pages and answer questions. Working together with other editors and staff can make sure that any new or big changes are welcome and agreeable for everyone.
Your eagerness to edit is valued, and I'm excited to see that passion used to make positive and important changes and teamwork. However, keep in mind that if you fail to reply to your talk page messages and improve your edits, we may have to block you from editing for a little while in order to get your attention. Your growth as an editor is important to us, and I'm sure we can do great things together!
Please make sure to respond to this message and ask us if you have any questions. I look forward to working with you on your editing journey! Landfish7 14:38, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
- Oh? Well thanks! I do my best here and try to read everything here, i'm just a little shy so i prefer to not respond, but i'll try to follow your advices! I just forget about it sometimes... Trainersurrel0409 (talk) 17:07, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
Short block
Hi. I have issued a short block of 1 day to get your attention. Your recent edits have shown a continued lack of thought and care into the quality of the content you're adding. Your edits contain many errors and quality issues such as involving multiple spelling and grammar mistakes, inserting multiple consecutive piped links (see the TVTropes page on sinkholing), adding way too much detail to sections, not using link templates, and not adding serial commas when listing three items or more. All of these are things we have given you advice on, but your edits don't show that these tips have stuck.
I think it might be useful to you to try talking about edits you want to make on Discord. We can offer advice and work towards improving your editing there. I hope you can drop in soon. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to ask me or another staff member. Thank you. Landfish7 19:30, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies about that... I'll ask them about my next edits unless they're too simple for that. Trainersurrel0409 (talk) 20:19, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- In regards to edits like this, reminder to please avoid consecutive piped links, such as this. Links should be clear about what they are linking to, like this link to Ash and his friends. Putting a bunch of links together side-by-side also makes it unclear if it's one link or many, especially on mobile. Landfish7 17:52, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
Anime source
Hey when you do those cool edit for biology with in the anime, can you mentioned where they are from specfically. As this does show the acutal source. hence why we mention the name of epsiodes, movie, or special going forward. Looks nice and makes it clear where it is from. Does that sound fair?--Jacob9594 (talk) 03:54, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
I think so, sure i can do that too. Trainersurrel0409 (talk) 04:02, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Gigantamax page
Hello! I would like to apologize for undoing your edit on the Gigantamax page on a whim. With a fresher mind, I don't actually see any problems in doing that. Seeing the effort it would take to update it to use the link templates made me jump the gun quite a bit, but I can clearly see now it was unfair to you. Again, sorry for that. Will do my best to refrain doing anything like that again. Shinka (talk) 18:22, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
No problem, i should've done it that way to begin with, you know what i mean: Pokémon. Trainersurrel0409 (talk) 18:33, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
Good work!
Just wanted to say I appreciated this edit. You added some really nice details and images here, and I think you did a nice job. Keep up the good work! Landfish7 20:28, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
