Ogerpon's partner, also known as the man, is a character from the backstory of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask.
History
Prior to The Teal Mask
The man and the ogre, Ogerpon travelled from a foreign land, carrying with him some Tera crystals. The duo arrived in the land of Kitakami, however, scared of their uncommon appearance, the villagers in the land refused to let them get any closer to the village, forcing them to travel into a nearby mountain, where they settled in a cave within it, saddened, but glad to be together.
One of the villagers, pittied the two, the village's mask maker, to try and help them, he crafted a set of four brilliant masks using the crystals the man had brought from his homeland. The man and Ogerpon were very thankful for the gift and they started to use the masks to blend in amongst the villagers during their Festival of Masks, easily becoming popular there due to their shiny, brilliant masks.
As rumors of their existence spread, they eventually got to distant lands, including an old couple's home, who greedily asked their Pokémon; Pecharunt, to travel to the land of Kitami, retrieve these masks for them, it gladly accepted the task and with its retainers; Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti, travelled through crops, mountains and seas to get to Kitakami.
Once the four got there, Munkidori tracked where the man and Ogerpon lived and Okidogi and Fezandipiti snuck into their cave while they were away, however as they were about to leave with the masks, the man returned and seein the invaders in their home, went and attacked the two, managing to protect the Teal Mask as the other three masks were taken away by the retainers, leaving the man in the den heavily injured. Ogerpon soon returned to its den and saw signs of a struggle along with the Teal Mask on the floor, its friend was missing however, Ogerpon donned the mask and ran down the mountain to look for him, only to find Pecharunt and its retainers with its stolen masks. Ogerpon went into a rage and battled them as Pecharunt ordered its retainers to defend it, however, Ogerpon came out victorious, slaying the three retainers and knocked Pecharunt out, sending it rolling away, deep into the forest.
Ogerpon has never seen her friend again, as its implied he had died after his fight with Okidogi and Fezandipiti, however, it's unknown what truly happened to him in the end, as his corpse is not found by Ogrepon in their home.
