Cyllene first meets the player at the Wallflower, having heard Professor Laventon’s request to let the player work for the Galaxy Team’s Survey Corps. in exchange for food and shelter, which she will accept if they passes a trial the next day. After Laventon, the player, and Akari/Rei finish their meal, she comes back out from inside the Wallflower and gives the player shelter for the night, although she warns that failure to pass the trial will cause them to be expelled from the village.
As the Survey Corps' captain, her primary purpose is to oversee the progress of the player's Pokédex and increase their rank whenever enough research points have been obtained.

Cyllene was introduced as a Supporter card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Sword & Shield Series (the Japanese Sword & Shield Era). It was first released in the Japanese Battle Region subset and the English Astral Radiance expansion, with artwork by nagimiso. It was also released as a Full Art card and Secret card in the same Japanese and English expansions, with artwork by the same artist. It allows the player to flip two coins, then put a card up from their discard pile on top of their deck for each heads flipped.
Trivia

- After defeating Zisu's fourth team in Path of Tenacity, she mentions that Cyllene was one of the best swordswomen in Hoenn.[1]
- In a discussion between Cyllene and Kamado, Kamado suggests that the Galaxy Team may eventually disband. Cyllene then vows to pass down the name and accomplishments of the team to her descendants, potentially alluding to the events of Team Galactic in the modern day.[2]
