Cacturne (Japanese: ノクタス Noctus) is a dual-type Grass/Dark Pokémon.
Biology
Physiology
These peculiar Pokémon have a humanoid appearance, they are covered with spikes, and are nocturnal Pokémon.
Gender differences
A female Cacturne has a big, dark-green rhombus where a male Cacturne has two small, dark-green rhombuses.
Special abilities
Aside from its numerous poison abilities, Cacturne also carries Sand Veil. In a Sandstorm, Cacturne's ability to avoid attacks is raised, giving it a sort of "home field advantage".
Cacturne, and its pre-evolution, Cacnea, are the only known Pokémon that learn Needle Arm.
Behavior
Cacturne are usually quiet during the daytime, but at night it develops an aggressive attitude, packing up in groups and lurking about stalking for prey, exhausted from the barren desert.

Trivia
- Cacturne and its pre-evolution, Cacnea are the only Pokémon (besides the Clefairy line with Magic Guard) which aren't Steel, Ground or Template:Type2 which are unharmed by sandstorm. This is because of their ability, Sand Veil.
Origin
Cacturne is based on a cactus with scarecrow-like features.
Name origin
Cacturne's name is a combination of cactus and nocturnal. Its Japanese name is also a combination of these words, only in a different order.
