Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, UltimateSephiroth!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • Read over the style primer before making your edits. It is a basic outline of Bulbapedia style. For a more in-depth set of rules, see the manual of style.
  • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:UltimateSephiroth/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • All users are allowed to edit the userspace 3 times a day. If you edit more than 3 times, you may be subjected to a warning. If you ignore the warning, you will be given three chances to comply. If you do not comply, your ability to modify the userspace will be revoked for a period of time.
  • Unless prior permission is given, no user is permitted to edit another user's page. Furthermore, edits to other users' pages are permitted only if there are problems that spread to other parts of Bulbapedia, such as broken links that appear on the wanted pages, switching out duplicate images that appear on the Archives, etc.
  • Fan fictions, missions, riddles, games, and anything else deemed not suitable for the wiki will not be allowed. If you would like to add something, but do not know if it is acceptable, ask an administrator.
  • A list of administrators that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! ----Kkllnn blastoise 19:56, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Contest Tag

A usertag you have been using, {{User Five Masters Ribbons}}, has been moved to a new location due to a split in the usertag between the Contests of Generation III and Super Contests of Generation IV. Your tag has been switched to that template's new location, {{User Contest Master}}. If you have only mastered the Super Contests, please change the tag to {{User Super Contest Master}}. If you hav emastered both, go ahead and add both. --tc26 14:52, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Club Member Prefix

Nice idea with the moving. It helps when we get COTDs with those names--KukiTalk 19:23, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Bad idea moving. Those are the only peopl present in canon and the names should not have been changed, If you would have looked at the history, you would have known that. I'm tired of people moving those pages when they are already at the needed names. MaverickNate 19:29, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Link Templates

Please use link templates when linking to stuff such as Pokémon names, attacks, and the like. For example, {{p|Rhydon}} instead of just [[Rhydon]]. This is so you don't unintentionally link to a disambiguation page.

For a full crash course on link templates, look at the list of link templates. --((Marton imos)) 19:37, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Starly

The reason for the thing about the header is because at the Project Pokédex, we have decided to seperate origin from trivia. Me and tc26 are already working on it.

P.S. I meant to say this in my edit summary, but I accidentally clicked "save". Chocolate 21:22, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I thought that the separation was just at the idea level, based on the discussion at the project page. I'm now confused, though: this Tesh assumes that the origin should be under Trivia, though you guys at Project Pokédex are making it its own section. Guess I'll keep avoiding touching them because now I have no idea how it should be in order to please most of the people. UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 21:29, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
I've always seen it under the trivia header. Maybe I'm getting old lol. Though, origin is trivial information to me. TESHIGIGAS 21:32, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Userspace abuse warnings

Normal users can give out the first three warnings by using {{subst:Userspace warning}} for the first, {{subst:Userspace warning|1}} for the second, and {{subst:Userspace warning|2}} for the third. The fourth warning level can only be given out by Sysops or higher. ^_^ - Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:33, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I almost thought that there was a template for that too :P Good to know that normal users can actually give warnings too. Thanks for the tip! UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 17:35, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Ash's Bulbasaur

Why exactly should we link to redirects? Chocolate 16:02, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

I wouldn't do it either, but the Manual of Style says so, and I think it makes the rules. UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 16:04, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Then I'm definitely starting a discussion on the Manual of Style talk page about changing that. Chocolate 16:04, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Number disambigs

As you're adding the prev/next templates, can you add a value for the link target (episodelist parameter) like I did in 001? I don't think it makes sense for that link to point to nowhere/the Main page. — Laoris (Blah) 22:33, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't notice that :D I must've copied the template from another number disambig since it is not there. But, I'll fix that thing too. Thanks for noticing! UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 22:35, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
By the way, did you get permission? I know Ht 14 was going to get some, but I dunno what happened after that. TESHIGIGAS 22:36, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
I didn't ask anybody, I just thought that I may do it since it was only partially done... If I stole somebody's work, I can stop adding those things too. UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 22:37, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Well I didn't add the thing to 001 until after you started working, UltimateSephiroth. And what do you mean by permission, Tesh? Permission to edit these? — Laoris (Blah) 22:38, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Permission to add the template to the disambig pages. Making an edit like that needs to be approved by an admin first. We don't want another incident like what happened with Chocolate. TESHIGIGAS 22:42, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
TTE himself added the template to the first 4 last night. — Laoris (Blah) 22:43, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Oh, he did? Ok. I'm living in the past... XD. *Goes to read the Bulba news...* TESHIGIGAS 22:45, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. He did the first few and I just copied the template and began to add it forward. So am I allowed to put them or not? :D I'm a little confused. UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 22:47, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Go for it. TESHIGIGAS 22:47, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Thank you :) UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 22:49, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't see why not. Course, I made the number disambigs past 15 to begin with because I figured since we already had some, we'd want more, and Maverick Nate got mad at me. — Laoris (Blah) 22:50, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Wait! The prev/next template needs to go below the disambig notice. TESHIGIGAS 22:58, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
O.O Now that's bizarre, all the first pages had it vice versa, and I followed that style... >.> What a mess, I guess I have to start moving them around :P UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 23:00, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Hello

While it is my secondary email address, you will soon be getting an email from . I hope we can chat sometime--KukiTalk 23:39, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

That's very nice! I'm sure we can have a chat sometime (even though I believe you live in America :P (time differences; it's 01:46 AM here now and I should wake up at 05:50 AM :D)). UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 23:47, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

That's right, and now I am in shock. A 7 hour time difference! C'MON!!--KukiTalk 23:49, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Number previous next...

Should have gone on the top of the page. MaverickNate 23:50, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll fix it.--RexRacer -talk 23:52, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
No, wait. It's meant to be like that. TTE put the first few up himself. Plus I asked him anyway. TESHIGIGAS 23:53, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I just previewed it, and it looks terrible on top--RexRacer -talk 23:53, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
That's funny. I just asked him, and every single other prev/next like that is at the top. MaverickNate 23:54, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
It's at the bottom on the TM pages. TESHIGIGAS 23:55, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
To me they look better at the bottom, and besides, the few ones already inserted were at the bottom. UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 23:57, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Okay, nevermind; just ignore me about this. MaverickNate 23:58, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
