Hey guys, it's FEBRUARY, the month of LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUV. So why not show me some and let me keep this talk page until March. Or April. Or maybe, possibly, May?
Block
I was going a bit outta control on RexRacer's talk page, so can you please give me a 30 minute cool-down block? I need to cool down. 0° 03:02, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Can you make this? Template:Movelist/body/special/2 It'd be real nice. Thanks! ht14 03:08, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

- By the way TTE, on the other archive, when I asked you to change the example here: it didn't come out clearly. There has to be a space and dash between "None" and "fieldmove".--MisterE13 03:32, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

A little late... but TTE, the thing I keep asking you to fix is at the bottom of the page. There is an example that shows people how to use the template. It needs to have a space and hyphen between the words "None" and "fieldmove"! Also, the instructions should also include such a note for all the moves without power levels.--MisterE13 21:56, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Jioruji Derako used Tackle on TTE's talkpage.
It's super-effective.
Oh, and you should look at this. Testing seems to work out fine. As a bonus, if you dig through the coding, you'll see a commented-out bit of coding that would allow for a small "target" variable. It's a little rough, which is why I'm not including it currently, but a possible idea for the future, if we decide to standardize that information in the infobox. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 13:52, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Colors
I don't know if I like it so much. Like why is it white where the Japanese title is? Are the colors going to be different for every saga? --ケンジのガール 02:18, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
- Why is it white where the Japanese title is? I figured that separating it would be fine. And yes, they will be. On my subpage at EpInfo. TTEchidna 02:20, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

How are we suppose to add home video dates to the new movie template? --HoennMaster 16:41, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Administrator Status
In order to keep our Administrator list currently up-to-date, this is a generic "are you there" message.
You've been assumed as currently alive (by technical standards) and are already marked as such, but if you disagree with this, either edit the List of administrators to reflect your status (Dead, Alive, or Something Like Schrodinger's Cat), or reply here when you get the chance. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 16:14, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

<noinclude>
What does it do and where should one use it?--MisterE13 22:09, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- One should use it on a template when they don't want a specific part of the template to appear elsewhere (This is hard to explain) For example, if I put <noinclude>EXPLODE</noinclude> on a template, and one put it somewhere else, "EXPLODE" would not show up.--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 22:12, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Galm's comment
Im sorry for taking a style from a different site, i will delete it as soon as i can. can the item picture before the item's name still go on?- unsigned comment from Galm (talk • contribs)
- It's already been deleted, though. As for the item pictures... those were kind of... eh. We're gonna be restandardizing them soon anyway, and don't forget that some items don't have bag sprites. And sign next time! And don't upload sprites as jpgs. TTEchidna 22:21, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
"=" template
Jio explained the principals of why it would be important and since we already have "!" (for "|") I thought it could be both useful and doable. I'd make it myself but I'd rather have someone else decide what to name it.--MisterE13 23:06, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- Just name it... =... TTEchidna 23:08, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- Except that uses the symbol which defeats the purpose of having one because in calling the template, you have to type "=". It would have to be something like "Template:--" (for the two lines) right?--MisterE13 00:11, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- I think having the curlybrackets prevents the template from thinking the "=" as a real thing. The ! is different because we can't have Template:| apparently. - unsigned comment from Sol (talk • contribs) 00:14, 7 February 2009
- I'm confused. What's the template supposed to call anyway? TTEchidna 00:19, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- The template calls an "=" because apparently one cannot use that in a Switch expression thus using it in the name would be pointless.--MisterE13 00:33, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure that
{{=}}
ought to work fine. It's the name of the template, not a field, so it shouldn't confuse the equal sign for anything. --((Marton imos)) 00:36, 7 February 2009 (UTC) - There, see? Typing in {{template|=}} didn't work as a link to the template page, but {{template|{{=}}}} gets us
{{=}}
. Equals signs act screwy in template fields, but this template gets them working fine. --((Marton imos)) 00:39, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

- Yeah, I know. When I tried it the way you would any other template and it didn't work, I thougth maybe E13 was right after all. But then I realized that it was because of the reason we were coming up with the template in the first place, so I got a cool chance to demonstrate its functionality completely on accident. --((Marton imos)) 00:48, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

EpicodePrevNext color schemes
I've went ahead and added two more color schemes available. These schemes were added while I was converting the PrevNexts on the Pokémon Special rounds. The two new schemes are Yellow (used in Yellow chapter rounds such as PS041) and FRLG (used in FireRed/LeafGreen chapter rounds such as PS268). If you can think of better colors for those schemes, go ahead and tweak them. --Shiningpikablu252 18:34, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Additions to the edit buttons
I don't know if it's possible, but I think it would be beneficial to add a couple of buttons to the top of the edit window. Perhaps: "{{}}" (for templates) and "{{|}}" (for link templates) hope this helps and is doable.--MisterE13 23:11, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- It might be, but that'd be getting into the css rather than anything else. TTEchidna 23:20, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
They're done!
I got some help from Jioruji Derako and the Unown Trozei and Gen II templates are all done! The best part is that they're both self contained so no special codes to put when they're implemented to the side games/sprite templates (They already display exceptions for ! and ?).

Template:Sprite/2/26formes
There are still several other templates I had made that have not been implemented yet so if you have the time/the inclination and need a refresher on what they all are, I'd be glad to help.--MisterE13 01:59, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

- I also just made Template:Sprite/4/2formes/1mini. Mostly because the way we have it set up now includes the minisprite for bloomed Cherrim (which doesn't exist) but also because it showed bud AFTER bloomed. Now, you can just put this into the sprite template and make it not ask for the minisprite.--MisterE13 18:54, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Just a quick question...
As an admin on Bulbanews and a staffie on the forums, should I be something on the 'pedia?--Mew a.k.a. Prmatt11 at 14:56, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for butting in, but probably not. You were only made admin on the news because of vandalism, and Politoed666 has been trying to stop users for getting admin status for that reason, (so technically, you kind of shouldn't have been made one in the first place) and we have too many administrators on the pedia now anyway. Template:AvailabilityGlitch2
There's something wrong with this template. Yesterday, I added a noincluded category to get it out of the uncategorized templates; however, today I went into the uncategorized templates and saw it was still there. I don't know what piece of coding is causing this. Is it possible for you to find what's wrong and get the template out of uncategorized? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 16:58, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- It's categorized now. for some reason the category would not work being on the same line as the table code. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:02, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Something new!
In my latest attempt to demonstrate polyformality, I've done some tinkering to Template:Moveentrytm: User:MisterE13/template:Moveentrytm. Feel free to play around with the variables but I'm 99% sure it works. Rotom might stretch tables a bit too much but hey, Rotom stretches a lot of tables. I can fix the other Moveentry templates later if this is approved. (BTW, it's so we don't get things like all 4 Deoxys in the same table with the same level learned or the always annoying 2 seperate Shellos). Unfortunately, some of the things are hard-coded to show the Normal form if you put in the number. Also, Rotom's forms do not seem to be coded in at all which could be unhelpful for showing moves learnt by one of them.--MisterE13 02:13, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- Well, how's it work with those? TTEchidna 03:44, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Award Scheme
Heya TTE. I'm now the Project Leader of Locations and I was wondering if I can put an award scheme/system on to encourage users to edit more location articles. It will be just like the Golden Bulbasaur Award, where every month a user, who is doing the best contributions, will relieve an award like the Golden Bulbasaur Award. But instead, the award can be kept on the project page, and it will be given out by me. Think it's a good idea?--Clarky13 13:59, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm gonna say... eh. Not really. Locations is where I started though, so maybe I could help. And yes it is 6 AM here. TTEchidna 12:25, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Permission to insert false information?
Theryguy512 said you basically gave him permission to insert false information onto Mankey, basically allowing the redirect to be converted to a disambig that lists that Ash caught a Mankey in EP029 before it evolved into Primeape. Anyone with half a brain knows that the Mankey evolved and THEN Ash caught the Pokémon, hence saying Mankey was a Pokémon that belonged to Ash before evolving is false information. (A Mankey that Ash did catch in the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga is unrelated to the Mankey in question, and is not notable for its own article because it was quickly traded away for a bogus map.)
This wave of false information even spread onto Spearow. Ash caught his Electric Tale Fearow directly as a Fearow, yet a recently-converted disambig implies that he caught it as a Spearow and then it evolved into a Fearow. The truth is that Ash has never caught a Spearow in any canon, yet the disambig lists Ash's Fearow evolving in a similar path as a Pokémon Ash tried to catch in the anime but failed.
I don't see why someone would think you'd willingly give them permission to insert false information onto Pokémon redirects...--Shiningpikablu252 16:21, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- actually, i told him he could, however, i didnt think he meant a Mankey disambig, i thought he meant a redirect of Ash's Mankey, which i didnt know already existed. it was a mis-understanding. -- MAGNEDETH 20:36, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
A little confused on our policies...
I thought the rules were that we aren't supposed to move pages to English names until the episode airs. Isn't it to avoid Ada/Audrey Solidad/Samantha instances? So what makes Yuri/Lila different? Did we change the rules? --ケンジのガール 03:09, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

We all know very well that Pokemon.com has been wrong before and an announcement does not mean a confirmation. That's why these pages get protected days before the broadcast. --ケンジのガール 03:25, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Archiving MY talk page
If I'm gonna ask this to someone, its you. Should I archive my talk page now? Its got at least 50 sections in it. Although... I did get an idea for it to have at least 70 sections before I archive it... So should I? Oh, and would I name it User talk:Dragonbeastx/Archive or User talk:Dragonbeastx/Archive 1? So?--DRAGONBEASTX 11:02, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
- Archiving is personal preference. Do it whenever you like, there is nothing right or wrong as long as you move the page instead of copy/paste. Make sure it goes to a place where it makes sense for you though. If you think you'll archive again later, Archive_1 is probably a good place to go. — THE TROM — 11:08, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Template stuff
Could you put a SUBST: (with includeonly tags) before the "#if:" parser function for {{unsigned}}
? So that when the template itself is SUBSTed, then the parser function stuff itself doesn't show up.
And while I'm on the subject of templates, {{Smash Bros.}}
would like an update. There's already the code on the talk page. ~ overgrownsol 04:51, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

{{Unsigned}}
. I believe it was pretty much made clear, that using the {{{2}}} that is in the template was a complete waste of time. So, maybe we should just obliterate the {{{2}}} on the template all together, seeing as it's use is pretty much unnecessary. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 08:00, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

I've went ahead and whipped up this template for use in the TM articles, but I'm having a bit of trouble hacking the wraparounds. Simply put, I'm having trouble looping the left side to 92 for TM01 or the right side to 01 for TM92. Awards
Why are the Administrators giving out the Award of "worst page"? I find it unnecessary and rude to the user. Awards should be something a person will be proud of. Anyway, this is an encyclopedia for people who love Pokémon. So a person has a "bad" page. So what? Pyles 23:39, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- Because it's not just "bad", it's BAD (as in, all capitals, bolded, italicized). So bad that it's easy to believe that whoever made the page didn't try at all. Some of the terrible pages do not even relate to Pokémon at all. So in conclusion, this award is usually only rewarded to people who do not take a large interest in effectively editing Bulbapedia, and so will not care deeply when they receive the award. ~ overgrownsol 23:47, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't mention anything about why Pokémons, Mews and so on is wrong. MathijsP 16:51, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, yes it does. You obviously were not reading carefully enough. Read the section titles 'Article titles'. Here is a line from it: In most cases, titles referring to a specific group should be kept singular, such as item rather than items. However, some exceptions are allowed when the group name is plural, such as Eevee brothers rather than Eevee brother. --Theryguy512 16:56, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- That is absolutely not what it refers to.
- It doesn't mention why it's wrong because we're an encyclopedia, not a damned dictionary. There aren't "151 POKEYMANZ" in RBY. Charmeleon's Diamond dex entry. Clearly refers to it as the plural without an S. EP025, Oak mentions that Gary's captured "30 Pokémon". No S. It's wrong because it is and if anyone's paying attention to it at all they will find that it is NOT right to add an S. TTEchidna 20:07, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for the long title, but... yeah. Since I'm too lazy to retype, here's exactly what I asked Shiningpikablu: "I know that there is the "wait until it airs" policy, but does it have a page like the signature policy? If it is, can we add it to the welcome message? If not, can we make a speculation policy AND add it? I dunno if today was a particularly bad day, but the gun-jumping with Staravia/Staraptor was pretty annoying and may be somewhat avoided by adding a mention to the welcome. Then again, I may be the only person who actually read the welcome message. "

- No. Just Staraptor...and Ash...and DP118, naturally...I requested Staravia/aptor protection from SP252. --PsychicRider☮ 01:40, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Srapator is here
Hi .As now the new movie poster has revealed that Starvia is going to evolve in DP118 so you can unprotect those pages. --Prongs 05:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)PRONGS
Protectioin
We have recently had minor gun-jumping speculation skirmishes on Chimchar and Staraptor. You should probably protect both of them. And Staravia and Ash's Chimchar, too, while your at it. --Theryguy512 12:12, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Template:TCGPokémonPrevNext
I'm having a bit of trouble with a modification I'm trying to implement. Due to the dark shade of {{tcg darkness color light}}
, I tried to figure out a way to display the text color in white when the "type" field of TCGPokémonPrevNext reads "darkness". Needless to say, nothing I tried worked. Can you figure out what I was doing wrong? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 18:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
- Ifeq statement. Makes it so that if the primary type is Darkness, the text is white. TTEchidna 23:10, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey.
Wandering. Do we have some sort of article regarding releasing a Pokémon? ht14 02:13, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Releasing? Like, sending out or permanently? I don't think we do, actually. TTEchidna 02:14, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Edit War May Start
Sorry to bug you, but for DP054, there may be an edit war starting over a piece of trivia. I'm hoping you can do something about it before it turns into a full-out war. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=DP054&action=history SL-samacontribs 02:16, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Why is this such a big freakin deal!? We do it for Wobbuffet!!! --ケンジのガール 02:17, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with KG. We do it for Wobby, we should do it for the penguin. TTEchidna 02:19, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- For God's sake, calm down. This is extremely unlike a good admin. I suggest you stop, as I remove such useless trivia. Why? Because it's useless. So knock it off. Not only are both trivia pieces completely useless, but you're starting an edit war. SL-samacontribs 02:20, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, you started it. TTE agrees. So knock it off. We have way more useless trivia then this. Like Bulbasaur being the first Grass-type. --ケンジのガール 02:23, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- I did not start any edit wars. That was you and psychic rider. I didn't even edit after your childish actions, because I wanted to take it up with another administrator. As in, one that doesn't do stupid crap like this. SL-samacontribs 02:24, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Look. That trivia's not so useless. Piplup appears all the damn time. An episode it doesn't appear in is a rarity. This isn't Misty's Staryu we're talking about, or May's Torchic. Piplup is barely inside its Poké Ball anymore! TTEchidna 02:25, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- If that were honestly true, than she wouldn't have had to edit so many of the DP articles. She edited 10+ of the articles, so it's obviously in its Poké Ball a lot more than you make it out to be. And she hardly scratched the surface of the episodes. SL-samacontribs 02:28, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you... That's what I try to explain to them. Piplup isn't just some regular Pokémon like Misty's Staryu or Brock's Onix. For the most part, it travels outside its Poké Ball, like Pikachu. It's become an important character of the Diamond & Pearl series and it's absent should be noted. I am so sick and tired of people treating Piplup like some common Ash friend Pokémon when it isn't... --ケンジのガール 02:30, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Firstly "I am so sick and tired of people treating Piplup like some common Ash friend Pokémon when it isn't...", what? Secondly, you're just doing this because of personal preference for Piplup? Because that is what you're implying. However, I'd like to turn your attention to the most recent comment I placed on your talk page. Read it and soak it in. SL-samacontribs 02:32, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- When's the last time it's been in a Poké Ball. Seriously. The Psyduck episode? 10+ pages when the series has been going on for almost 120 already. Piplup appears in every episode with few exceptions. Those exceptions are noted just as much as Wobbuffet's are, since that thing's been in every one since EP146. We're on EP586. 440 episodes, and it's in most of them. Piplup's a similar case, and should be noted as such. TTEchidna 02:32, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- And I'd also like you to refer to the comment I placed on her talk page as well. SL-samacontribs 02:34, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

- Oh, for God's sakes, I'm not freaking out. When in there did I freak out? I'd love for you to show me. I even dropped it; so where did I freak out? SL-samacontribs 02:43, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- It's not all about personal preference. Yes, I like Piplup. But over time, I've seen people try to deny what is FACT. Piplup is meant to be more important than the other Pokémon characters, besides Pikachu and Meowth. It stays out of a Poké Ball, it appears in most episodes, it has its own ending, and its name appears in the Japanese credits along with the other important characters rather then the second list of guests. That is my argument. You people don't want to believe that someone other than Pikachu, Meowth, and Togepi is finally sharing the lime light. I HATE Meowth and Togepi but I'm not going to deny their important roles.
