BEFORE YOU COMMENT!!
There's been rumblings of too much non-pedia discussion around here, so, in best interest of that, if you want to tell me something personal, or just plain off-topic, send me a PM OR visit the new Bulbapedia Discussion Forum, instead of commenting here.
BTW...tired of waiting for a new Pokémon game just to tackle some new gyms? Then bring it on.
I'm watching you... |

Templates
Why are so many protected from autoconfirmed users? It's not like we get that many "Impossible Sharked Bulbasaurs" anymore, so why the barrier? --Bulbapedian - Talk 02:20, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
- if a vandal attacks a template, thats X pages now affected. but moreover, if youre referring to the templates i just protected, well, they dont need to be touched, so, why SHOULDNT they be protected? -- MAGNEDETH 02:21, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
- No, no. Don't need to edit those ones. I meant templates in general. It seems as if many are. Just thought a little freedom and mobility could be benefited from. --Bulbapedian - Talk 02:24, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Are {{g|}} and {{ga|}} both used as shortcuts for the game template? I think I may have seen them both work in the past, but I just want to be sure. --Bulbapedian - Talk 01:56, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- hmm, im not sure. youre best bet might be to ask Mav. hes been really tackling the templates these days. -- MAGNEDETH 01:59, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Serebii.net Special characters
Why shouldn't we externally link to Serebii.net for Special characters? The only entries listed were in Japanese, so I thought that since the vast majority of our readers are only fluent in English, they should be able to read a more complete bio on each character. Hypo Prower 01:23, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- because we are Bulbapedia, not Serebii. now, im going to go remove those Japanese links that someone put there that arent supposed to be there. -- MAGNEDETH 01:24, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- That doesn't make any sense. Every external link listed should be a different website. I mean, would we not put TRsRockin.com on the TRsRockin.com article just because it's a different fan site? I just don't see what's wrong with having a link to a more complete bio than what's even on Bulbapedia itself. Hypo Prower 20:57, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- the point is to expand OUR articles, not tell people to go to another site. the TRs thing, thats only glitches. -- MAGNEDETH 20:58, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I kinda see your point, but why don't we just expand our glitch articles to have the same info as TRsRockin? Hypo Prower 22:37, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- because thatd be copying. plagiarism. granted, for i know were partners with them or something. or for all i know, were not and shouldnt have their links on your site! i should look into that. -- MAGNEDETH 22:38, 1 February 2009

Multiple Edits
The reason I am making multiple edits is because I couldn't find the edit mode. On the wiki I am used to, it is on the left side-bar, but on this wiki it is not there. So I was going through and editing things one section at a time. Though, I think I see it now, on the top of the page, so that shouldn't happen again.
Also, I deleted the new user-info off of my talk page, but not anything that Rex said to me. At least, I did not mean to delete anything that rex said to me. - unsigned comment from Jacobe (talk • contribs)
- well, not all wikis are the same and im inclined to think youre not even entirely familiar how a wiki works. you removed the welcome template, which is against the rules, but, you should probably actually look through the template and read on our policies and general rules of editing. also, you dont have to go to someone elses page to comment, it breaks up the conversation. -- MAGNEDETH 00:58, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

- i understand youre trying to help, and thats fine, but, really minor characters (whos pages are actually under investigation for notability no less) dont need redirects to their respective pages. off the top of my head, i am not aware of pages that need redirect. also, dont reply on my page, just reply on your own. it keeps the conversation in one place. -- MAGNEDETH 02:22, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Togepi evolution line gender ratios
I'm sorry, but 223 is not the correct gendercode for Togepi and its evolution line. If it were, the line's gender ratio would be 87.5% favoring female (to which 223 is that ratio's gendercode), thus making Fein's shadow Togetic very easy to obtain as a female. However, the evolution line's actual gender ratio is 87.5% favoring male (this ratio's gendercode is 31), which means the shadow Togetic is an absolute ***** to try to get female. I don't see how you honestly believed Togepi and its evolution line was female-dominated, especially given how Mystery Dungeon 1 portrayed Togetic and Blissey (a female-only species) as lovers in some Wonder Mail deliveries...--Shiningpikablu252 04:38, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

- When I said "but we've yet to get one", I was referring to a Pokémon whose gender ratio is 87.5% favoring female, not the gendercode for such a Pokémon. --Shiningpikablu252 18:54, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Stop.
What is the point of the userpage policy? On Wikipedia, userpages are vandalized all the time, and there's no upper limit to the number of userpage edits. 欠番 21:26, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

What do you mean, useless trivia?!
How is the trivia I added to Tropius and Absol's pages useless?? It shows the many similarities between the two species. And even if these similarities were unintentional (as they probably were), that doesn't mean that they can't be noted in the trivia sections! I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 00:39, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- i could make some of those "similarities" based on numerous Pokemon. -- MAGNEDETH 00:41, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- But all of them? I included some mind-bendingly specific similarities in there (particularly regarding the Generation IV abilities and the Murkrow and Sunkern families, as well as their first locations being on rainy routes connected to Fortree). I realize some of them were kinda generic, but not all of them. I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 00:45, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- All of them together is kind of
not genericabnormal. BTW, all trivia is useless. That doesn't make it bad. --ニョロトノ666 00:51, 25 February 2009 (UTC)- I don't seem to be able to recall any other Pokémon that have curved objects attached to their heads, with the possible exceptions of Pinsir, Tauros, and Heracross's horns. Actually, I should've worded that better to exclude horns, as neither sickles nor bananas are horns. I'll give you that much. Now, I'll go over the trivia and see how generic it is.
- All of them together is kind of
- Introduced in Gen. III. That applies to a good number of Pokémon. Fairly generic.
- In their first games, were only found on one route each, rarely, and said routes had rainfall and their north exits led to Fortree. Doesn't apply to anything else, with the POSSIBLE exception of Kecleon. Not generic in the least.
- No evolutions. Roughly 90% of Pokémon are involved in evolution. Somewhat generic.
- Uncommon type combos. Applies to some Pokémon, depending on type. Slightly generic.
- Colo. shadow Pokémon, level in high 40s, Realgam colosseum. Only applies to 4 Pokémon total, as Metagross was lv. 50 and T-Tar lv. 55. Not generic.
- Curved object on head. I should've worded it differently to exclude horns. Generic.
- One ability initially, given another in Gen. IV, shares ability w/2-member evo family where stone is needed, and lowest form comes from Gen. II, and all of them share a type, plus the flying thing, and the letter S and two-word name. I don't think it applies to anything else. Couldn't get less generic than this.
- Quadrupedal. Possibly the most generic piece of trivia here.
- Not in original Sinnoh dex, but in Platinum's expansion. Applies to almost 60 Pokémon. Kinda generic.
- Jap and English names identical. Applies to a fair amount of Pokémon. Fairly generic.
In review, it seems that a few of these are somewhat generic. However, you can't deny I've found a stunning amount of similarities. I think a compromise could work here: I could re-add only the non-generic trivia. What say you? I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 01:06, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- the only interesting thing i see is that both are located on a rainy route headed to Fortree, but even that doesnt seem notable enough. -- MAGNEDETH 01:12, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- No, that would defeat the purpose. If we're going to add it, we need all the similarities, even the generic ones, to make it seem viable. --ニョロトノ666 01:13, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Userspace "policy"
Why is there a limit on editing userpages when such limit is clearly an illegal restriction of free speech? 欠番 18:19, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- Haha, that's funny.
- But seriously now. The userspace editing limit doesn't stop you from saying what you like, it stops you from crashing our servers by saving fifteen edits a day. Much in the same way that you can say whatever you like in an airport terminal, but you'll probably be thrown out if you stand at the boarding gate and scream "THAT GUY HAS A BOMB! EVERYONE RUN!" whenever you see someone with a larger-then-normal suitcase.
- We're not censoring you, we're just making sure you don't do damage to the website when you say stuff. Say whatever you like, just do it all in one edit, please! Or at least attempt to. You really only need to edit more then once a day if you made a mistake on the first edit, and the show preview button should make that a rare occasion. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 18:32, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Anime Tables
I was just going through looking at the anime edits you have made. Instead of making one sentence paragraphs for minor appearances, I edited in a table ([1]), and Kevzo8 reverted the table and told me to ask you first. So here I am, asking what you think. --Spriteit 06:10, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
- As you can see, my above comment might answer your question. ►Ҝəυzø8 06:15, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
- I thought I talked about that *looks*... I didn't, my idea was mainly just for the minor appearances, it's collapsible to cut down unneeded white space and to make the pages shorter. It also allows for the listing of all the appearances, it's just an idea, but if nobody agrees with it, then I won't make a big deal, as, it is just an idea. --Spriteit 06:21, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Just wondering, what exactly was your problem with the table? Also, where was it? Can you give a screenshot? *tc26* 05:42, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

- Can you give a screenshot? *tc26* 05:48, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
- For users like me and SP252, it's hard to give a screenshot. I'll just tell you: If the paragraphs before the in the anime section are not long enough to fill length of the move infobox, the templates create to much white spaces between the header and the template. It also stretches the page.. So you'd better consult TTE. ►Ҝəυzø8 06:23, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

OK...
'M is a real Pokémon. It was programmed into the game. It has a cry. It can be captured within a Poké Ball. It has a specific set of level-up moves. It can be used in battle. It has TM/HM compatibility. It has base stats. Those are the traits that constitute real Pokémon- heck, even TM/HM compatibility is optional! The point is, no matter whether 'M's presence in the game was an accident, an oversight, or the product of a particularly bored programmer, it is in there. Thus it is as real as any other Pokémon in the game. And don't even say that it hasn't appeared in the anime, because by that logic, Porygon2, Porygon-Z, and Abomasnow aren't real, either. My point being, Glitch Pokémon and "official" Pokémon are equal, and any attempt to pretend otherwise is a hideous insult. So I would appreciate it if the Diet section was put back, OK? I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 10:28, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- Real Pokémon have dex numbers. Real Pokémon don't fuck with your game after you catch it. Please stop your irrational obsession with these glitch Pokémon. They are mistakes in the game, not recognized by the official GameFreak staff as real Pokémon. And if they were real, don't you think they would appear in other generations like their supposed numbered counterparts? I bet you wouldn't be able to transfer a glitch Pokémon from your GBA to your DS. So tell me, how is it real? It does not have a diet it. It doesn't eat. It's doesn't have a habitat either. What's the point of having it? Please just use your common sense and try to think how ridiculous you are sounding. Glitch Pokémon and Real Pokémon are far from being equal. Stop whining about a stupid Diet/Habitat section and move on. --ケンジのガール 18:44, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Why do you hate me?
MAGNEDETH, I’m not saying I’m mad. I just wanna know why. Why did you block me. Do you just plain hate me? You didn’t block me the whole time we were arguing. You waited until afterwards, when I would live my editing life happily and came back to ruin it. Just like you did with the userspace thing. I was updating pokémon of the day at the request of people in my neighborhood, and you came along and threatened me. I have done nothing “insubordinate” to you. I just asked for an FAQ, which ht14 provided, then you came along to mess my happiness up AGAIN. And if that weren’t enough, you insulted my editing skills and told me to go away. All I want to know is: Why Do You Hate Me? ♥Lapras 19:25, 5 April 2009 (UTC) Just tell me why!
- saying i hate you is going too far. but, despite being told to edit the mainspace, learn how to edit a wiki, and stop putting your FAQ on your talk page, you still did all of those things. all of those things are against the rules, which is called "insubordination". its my job to "police" the wiki because i am an administrator. you have been breaking the rules, so you have been yelled at. you continued the break the rules, so you were blocked. if you want to stop getting yelled at, start obeying the rules. -- MAGNEDETH 19:32, 5 April 2009

Why was this deleted?
Why did you delete the artical I made for the Darkrai from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2? I understand I didn't do the best job but I'd like a better explaination than 'holy crap, no'. I realize it needed a lot of work but I still don't see why it was deleted. Darkrai is the main antagonist of the game after all, despite the fact he didn't appear in the main storyline, he did orcastrait the entire thing. Celebi had less of a role than he did and yet has an artical. If you've got a good explaination, I'd like to hear it rather than guess. If I need to do something to have a page made, tell me where and I'll do it because I feel this character deserves a page. --Superx 02:06, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- the quality of the page wasnt even remotely close to even our minimum standards. but, ill give it a chance. -- MAGNEDETH 02:08, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I understand that, as I said in my post summery, it was my first try making a page, I tried the best I could given my knowledge. I do not know all the templets and such so I did the best I could and hopped others would be able to fix my mistakes. If there's a page telling more details on how to make a good page, I would like to be directed to it and promise I'd improve the page if its recreated or remake a revised verson more suitable. My complaint wasn't so much it was deleted, more so that I felt I didn't have a valid explaination, thank you for giving me one. --Superx 02:13, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- well, holy damn bud. your talk page has a lot of text explaining how to edit our site! you cant blame a lack of knowledge when the fact is that as soon as you join, we throw every helpful page right onto your doorstep. so, not having knowledge of our link templates or style is not an acceptable solution to a problem that shouldnt exist. -- MAGNEDETH 02:17, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I'll try to work on it but give me more time please. *tc26* 02:22, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Thank you Tc26. MAGNEDETH I did try to at least partly fix the artical. I read the text on my talk page, I guess a more exact awnser is I can't remember the link templates and a problem with my computer prevents me from looking up the templetes on another window. I did look at them and have been doing my best to improve. At least, unlike some occasions I've seen, I spell checked it and did a grammer check. I will try to improve my work. The only thing obvious I can see problems are no sources, which I'm unsure if we can do sourcing to another part of the site, and the fact I didn't have the attacks thing added the others have, I didn't do that because I didn't know his attacks. I'm sorry for posting a bad page but I rarely ever post pages, just edit them so I don't have practice. Does this site have a sandbox area like wikipedia were I can practice? --Superx 02:33, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- well, let me start with saying that we are not wikipedia. so, no sources are needed, but, if you find a spot in an article that needs to be noted, link to it. example: "Darkrai is a master of darkness." as for a sandbox, we do have a public sandbox somewhere, im not sure what the name is because i dont use it. i think its Bulbapedia:Sandbox. -- MAGNEDETH 02:47, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- Just keep using the preview button till you get it right then save it--Pokemonguy1 Pikachu 02:50, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Thank you, that is very helpful to me and thus will help me with improving the site. I tried to at least somewhat fix up the artical, hope that helpped. I'm probably missing something by looking at the edits menu on the other Pokemon Mystery Dungeon character's profiles but I'll check again and use that to help improve my Darkrai artical. I will create more links to help with it and will use that sandbox for future page creations should I do them. Its reassuring to know sources are not needed as that had confused me. If there are any pressing matters about the page that are real problems are should address imidiately, please tell me so I may do so. I will also take Pokemonguy1's suggestion into consideration, though I do that as it is, it was ok to point it out. --Superx 02:54, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- thankfully, tc26 is already taking care of it. -- MAGNEDETH 02:56, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll wait for him to do his thing. I would like to point out, however, Celebi's artical needs a good bit of work right now, as its in simualr shape to mine except for having the attacks mentioned. This may explain why mine ended up so bad because I based it off the first Mystery Dungeon Character artical I could locate, when instead I probably should've used Groyvle or Dusknoir's far better done articals. My bad. Anyway, I sencerly apologize for doing a poor job and I promise to try harder to make better stuff in the future. My motive here was simply wanting to give an importent character from the game an artical as I felt Darkrai was the main villain of the game. --Superx 03:03, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

- long answer: as a site based around editing and making our articles top quality and useful to the average reader, itd be a much better use of your time to spend 2 hours improving a bad article rather than making a user tag that we really dont need. so, take a few days on me to read up on some of our policies (all of which can be located in the welcome on your talk page) and when you coem back, hopefully you will edit properly, and not insult administrators, which you were warned about already. -- MAGNEDETH 16:23, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
