Trivia
- There is no Professor Oak's Pokémon lecture following this episode, instead being replaced with a preview of the following episode of Pokémon Sunday which is due to make a major game announcement. The advert is performed in the style of the lecture.
- This episode marks the third time Ash's Buizel uses its improvised move Ice Aqua Jet.
- The fact that Candice is also teaching in a Trainers' School mimics a similar event in Hoenn where another Gym Leader taught at a school (though this was also in the games). Also, there is a Trainer's School in Jubilife City in the games.
- Background music from Route 29 was used in this episode.
- One of Candice's students bears a striking resemblance to Vidso from The Screen Actor's Guilt.
- This episode reveals how Zoey obtained her Glameow.
Errors
- When Candice's class is seen for the first time, the top of Stunky's head is colored purple, instead of white.
- As Team Rocket blasts off, James's neck is missing during a close up.
