Trivia
- Along with its pre-evolution and its evolution, Lairon does not learn any Rock-type moves by leveling up, despite being part Rock.
- Its weight is tied with Rhydon, another evolved Template:Type2.
Origin
Lairon has an appearance similar to that of Placerias, a mammal-like reptile that lived in the Triassic period.
Name origin
Lairon's name may be a combination of lairy, slang for aggressive, or lair, and iron. Its Japanese name may be a combination of 巨 ko, large, and dragon.
