(Japanese: ヒョウタ Hyōta) is the Gym Leader of Kurogane City Gym. He hands out the Coalbadge to trainers who defeat him. He specializes in Rock-type Pokémon.
In the anime
Hyōta appears in the episodes between DP015 and DP018. He battled both Shinji and Ash in Gym Battles, as well as having a rematch against Ash who lost the first time. Between his two matches against Ash, Hyōta's Zugaidos evolved into a Rampard.
His Japanese voice actor is 我妻正崇 Masataka Azuma.
