Just asking, if I have a Speed forme of Deoxys in Emerald, and I trade it to FireRed, will it still have his Speed forme or will it change to FireRed's forme? If the answer is the second option, shouldn't this be in the article? --[[User:Dr. James|Dr. James]] 15:48, 27 September 2009 (UTC) | Just asking, if I have a Speed forme of Deoxys in Emerald, and I trade it to FireRed, will it still have his Speed forme or will it change to FireRed's forme? Looking back, that was a pretty bad edit. Long, rambly, save for grammar, spelling, and capitalization. Still, someone should do something, it is not right as it is. The purple Deoxys did not just appear and go to Larousse city, it was in the same meteor as the green Deoxys. Rayquaza did not simply appear out of nowhere either, it had a previous battle and current motive to track down and attack the Deoxys. Worst of all, it wasn't because Emerald had not come out yet that the Speed forme had not appeared in the movie, it was because it had not been created yet. It had come out in Emerald because by that time, they had made Speed forme Deoxys and needed a third generation game to contain that data. File:386LG.png | Due to special coding in place in the article to illustrate Deoxys's forms, certain displays will change showing Deoxys in its Defense Forme. This will only affect the artwork shown in the infobox, the EV yield shown on the page itself, the anime image shown, the base stats entry which is unhidden, and the Pokéthlon stats entry which is unhidden. This changes every day, so when the time comes, click here to return to the page and change the display. |
Missingno.
I'm not quite sure in Deoxys is supposed to be based of Missingno. or not. Even my Jirachi-is based-off-the-Beanstar theory manages to mak more sense then that.--Pokencyclopedia 13:33, 6 September 2005 (CDT)
- Oh, puh-leeze. Deoxys is not based off Missingno. I should know, I'm the self-proclaimed expert on Deoxys. (the key word there being self-proclaimed.) -- PinkDeoxys 15:34, 8 January 2006 (CST)
- Not that I added it to the article, but I do somewhat agree that it shares a few traits... the call, kind of... It's like Hypno sounds like Jynx when sped up, only Deoxys you have to play backwards and sped up to make it sound like Missingno.. And the southern island thing. But I dunno, mostly it's just fan speculation unless we go and ask the designers ourselves. Not that I'd imagine they forgot about Missingno. entirely. Tom Temprotran 06:30, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- Deoxys is most likely not based on Missingno.. However, until it can be disproven, it is a valid theory.--Celebi96 02:18, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Location
How do you obtain Deoxys? Where is it? Also, how do you obtain Jirachi or Mew?
- Deoxys requires the ticket(forgot the name). On an island. Jirachi is the Colo bonus disk. Mew requires the old sea chart.
- The ticket is called the Aurora Ticket. It was given out at Pokémon Rocks America 2004. -- PinkDeoxys 15:30, 8 January 2006 (CST)
IMO, I think Deoxys is based on it's namesake, DNA. or else viruses, with are just coated proteins like DNA.
- Deoxys is based off Deoxyriboneucleic (did I spell that right?) acid, or DNA. Its forms, Defense, Normal, and Attack, form the word DNA. The S in Speed is the last letter of its name. -- PinkDeoxys 15:30, 8 January 2006 (CST)

(Just like the exodus of german scientists to America during World War II!) Since the Wikipedia pokemon articles are in danger of being deleted, I made it my duty to add the info to the Bulbapedia articles from Wikipedia, starting with this one!!! MudkipNDS 19:25, 19 July 2007 (UTC)mkds

Eggs
It says "no eggs" for the egg group yet specifies a number of steps to hatch. Huh?--SomeoneIKnew 20:06, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- While it is impossible for a Deoxys egg to exist, every species was given a number of steps to hatch; this information was found through hacking probably. In most cases, impossible eggs are given a ludicrous number of steps anyway.--Loveはドコ? (talk • contribs) 21:13, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's not impossible to have it, you just have to hack it. But yes, the hatching steps do come from game data. TTEchidna 04:15, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- The reason Deoxys has an egg step number is to prevent the game crash that happend in Gen II, when people would use cheats to get special eggs the games would crash when a legendary egg is made. This way players could hack legendary eggs without crashing their game. GuyNamedSean 18:29, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Possible Error?
My Deoxys is in Attack Form, hit Level 33, and learned Pursuit. The movelist says it should have learned Spikes (which I wanted). Is the movelist wrong? Inker 07:41, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- You sure it's in Attack form? The other three learn it at 33, so you might be mistaking the form. TTEchidna 08:14, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- That was indeed an error, and has now been corrected. For the record, this also applies to Taunt, which is Defense Deoxys' exclusive move, rather than Attack Deoxys' (it learns Knock Off along with the other two).
- Whoever got the movelist wrong must have done so because he expected the three non-Normal forms to each have four exclusive moves. In truth, Attack Deoxys has two such moves (Superpower and Zap Cannon), Defense Deoxys - six (Spikes, Taunt, Iron Defense, Amnesia, Counter and Mirror Coat), and Speed Deoxys - four (Double Team, Swift, Agility and ExtremeSpeed). --Unown Lord 16:21, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Forme spelling
Originally, all of Deoxys's different "formes" were thought to be spelled as "form." However, after Giratina's Origin Forme was revealed, fans went back to check Pokémon.com, and the Official Emerald Players guide (published in 2005) to find that "forme" has in fact always been the official spelling"
What exactly does the Player's Guide say? If it's just a random appearance of the word, then my suggestion is revert everything to "Form" until either word appears capitalized in a game, just like "Form" (and never "Forme") appears in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Pokémon Ranger. IMO, a Player's Guide or news coverings can't be trusted more than the released games themselves. To be fair, the Prima guides also spell it "forme", but still, it's just paper. Super Smash Bros. Brawl spells it "forme", too, but without a capital "F". --Johans 18:01, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- So let me get this right - Prima, a player's guide, the official Pokédex website AND Super Smash Bros. Brawl use "forme" and you still think that the official terminology is "form"? It clearly isn't. Cipher 18:11, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- My point was that Pokémon Ranger and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon spell them "Form", with a capital "F", in the text of the game. They are Pokémon games, more mainstream than any Super Smash Bros. game will ever be, and more digital than any guide will ever be. Bulbapedia is intended to be leaned a bit more toward in-game data from what I know. I remember Zhen Lin telling me to fix the "Electric Squirrel" words and place Pachirisu's species name as "EleSquirrel" for example.
- Politoed666, I don't get why my change was reverted specifically here. The current table about Mystery Dungeon is using the in-game spelling, so I was doing the same, in the Pokémon Ranger side game data section, with the names of the Deoxys "formes" (if you wish, outside of the context) as they appear in Pokémon Ranger as mentioned by Solana and Spencer. --Johans 19:38, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- This is a page from Nintendo's Pokémon Emerald Players guide. [2]
- As you can see from the image above, it is not an error, forme is the proper spelling. Trainer-c 18:53, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. I hope in the future everybody takes into account the dates in which different spellings appear, though (I suppose that's 2005). --Johans 19:38, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Changing Problem
How Do we change the Move list?I've found that you can't put a small specific word(such as FR) to that specific forme moves(for the example word must be FRLG) also I checked many website found that Taunt is a Attack Forme only move.--(since English is not my mother language...there may be have grammer mistake) --chungkingpunノ14:24, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- Uh oh, youre right =) hfc2X 02:40, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's easy. I set it up for Deoxys's formes. Instead of FR/LG/E/RS, just put the form of the Pokémon. Attack Deoxys learns a move, put Attack. TTEchidna 05:41, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

I know with Deoxys we do the "standard forme" thing... but we have Wormadam with all three of her coats, same with Burmy, and Shellos and Gastrodon in both West and East Sea variations. GenIII Backsprites
I always thought we could have the sprites cycle through the ones available in each game like the Arceus sprite does on it's page (the GenIII backsprites being a good example). We could even do this for all multi-formed Pokémon - unsigned comment from MisterE13 (talk • contribs)
- For Arceus it is ok, 'cause it has many forms in the same game, but it's not the case for Deoxys (as in Gen III has different forms for different games), so all of them must be shown at the same time.

. hfc2X 18:50, 26 October 2008 (UTC)- Thanks, I forgot. I just meant instead of cramming all four backsprites into sections of the box, it could cycle the way the Arceus sprite near the top of the page does. I was also thinking that we could do that for the GenIV ones because you can get all 4. We could also do it with Castform, Cherrim, Arceus, Unown, Burmy, Wormadam, Giratina, Shaymin, Rotom... - That would be an epic pain. Plus, the only way to do that would be to change the nice, crisp pngs into crappy 256-color gifs, so everyone could see them. And that's a definite no. Anipngs would be for the animation of the sprites, not for showing all of them. The way we've got it is just fine, as far as I'm concerned, since you can click the images anyway to get to the fullsize versions. And we're not doing one of those stupid gifs for everyone. "Forme" trivia
The trivia section currently states "fans went back to check Pokémon.com, and the Official Emerald Players guide (published in 2005) to find that "forme" has in fact always been the official spelling". However, this user says that the official FireRed/LeafGreen guide (published in 2004) uses "form", so apparently the "forme" spelling hasn't been "always official". abwayax (t/c)

Trivia
What is the point of the trivia stating, "In its Generation III Normal Forme sprite, its arm is on its right side, while in Generation IV the arm is on its left. Additionally, in Generation III, it only is shown with four fingers, while in Generation IV, it has five."? The animé (yes that is how you are supposed to spell it), and Sugomori art show that Normal Forme Deoxys can twist the arm-tentacles together to form a "humanoid" arm. Doesn't that meen that it should be able to have an arm on either side, and probably change the finger number? GuyNamedSean 23:58, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Horrible fuzzy pictures!
Why is the Deoxys picture used at the top of article always enlarged, so that it is horribly pixelated? I think it would be better just to make it smaller, which I would do if I knew how, but I'm not very familiar with Wiki code. Taromon777 20:19, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

- No...it's not important...because it's the same color. -Sketch 13:36, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, it's darker in Gen IV, if you compare the back sprites. Also, the gem in its chest is a different color in Emerald than it is everywhere else; it's pink in Emerald, but purple in all other games and formes, even its Gen IV Speed Forme. And is it just me or is its gem bigger in its Defense Forme than in its other formes?--Celebi96 17:33, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Trivia error?
This might be me being stupid, but the trivia says "Deoxys was the first Pokémon to have its own unique battle music", but didn't Suicune in Pokémon Crystal have unique music when you battled it? I haven't played Pokémon Crystal in a while, so I might be wrong. ~~Takoto - サソデイ 18:19, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think Suicune's music was shared with Entei and Raikou, as before this, all Pokémon had the same wild encounter theme. Deoxys was the first to have its own music, without sharing. — THE TROM — 21:22, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
