Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl is the tenth season of the anime and the first season of the English dub of the Diamond & Pearl series. It follows Ash Ketchum as he begins his journey in the Sinnoh region along with Brock, and new girl Dawn. Ash continues to collect badges, while Dawn competes in contests. It began with Following A Maiden's Voyage, which originally aired on April 20, 2007 in the United States, and ended with Smells Like Team Spirit! which originally aired on February 1, 2008.
It is preceded by Pokémon: Battle Frontier and is succeeded by Pokémon Diamond & Pearl: Battle Dimension. It should be noted that the concept of seasons does not exist in Japan, where episodes of Pokémon air nearly every Thursday. An invention of the American broadcast industry, a season is typically aired new for nine months out of the year, with three months (usually during the summer) taken off to begin production for the next season, during which reruns air. In Japan, no differentiation is made between this and any other seasons in the Diamond & Pearl series.
See the list of Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl episodes for a list of episodes aired this season.
