From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
A drink is a type of item from the Pokémon games. Most can be used during or out of battle to restore a Pokémon's HP. They are usually a cheap alternative to Potions, but are rarely purchasable in bulk.
Drinks are found in a variety of special places. The main three, Fresh Water, Soda Pop, and Lemonade, can be bought from vending machines atop the Celadon Department Store, Goldenrod Department Store, Lilycove Department Store, and Veilstone Department Store, as well as the vending machines in The Under (Pokémon Colosseum only), Pyrite Town (Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness only) and the Pokéathlon Dome. They can be bought on bulk in only two places, in the Two Island Market Stall (after certain requirements are met) and at Mt. Moon Square in HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions.

Trivia
- In the Generation I games, a Fresh Water, Soda Pop, or Lemonade could to be given to the thirsty guards who blocked the player from entering Saffron City; in Generation III, the guards must instead be given Tea, which is found in the Celadon Mansion. This is likely to prevent exploitation of a Pokémon's ability to hold items: another FireRed or LeafGreen game could trade in a Pokémon holding one of the three buyable drinks to allow entry into Saffron as early as after defeating Brock, an exploit possible in Generation I by using Pokémon Stadium 2's Color Case.
- The Fresh Water is one of the two most rentable HP recovers, as each 1 HP "cost" only 4 Poké Dollars. In other common HP recovers, each 1 HP normaly costs over 10 Poké Dollars (in the Super Potion, which recovers the same as the Fresh Water, 50 HP, each HP "costs" 14 PokéDollars). The other most rentable HP recover is the Energy Root.
