Name

Bulbanews says it's Chiramii, with one 'a'.--Pokélova! 12:20, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Physiology for the admins to implement

Chiramii is a furry, white-colored rodent-like Pokémon, sporting scruffs of fur on its head, ear insides, and neck. Chiramii’s large ears, located to the sides of its head, have red insides partly covered by the aforementioned tufts of fur there. Its eyes are large and brown, with a small, dot-like nose. Its limbs are somewhat rounded and small, and its tail is long and particularly furry. (I hope that this description is phrased well, I felt that it was more repetitive than the others....) Steph 16:06, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Done, thanks for writing these. --ZestyCactus 20:59, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
I think the description should include that it is actually a light grey, and only has white on the tips of its ears and tail... Mudkipchan 19:21, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

National Dex Number

Since Chiramii is number 78 in the isshu dex, that means it's number 571 in the national dex. You guys (the admins) think you could add that to the stuff n such? -User:Carrottime

It doesn't always work like that. The Isshu dex may have Pokémon that are already known, like how Magikarp and Gyarados are found in the Sinnoh dex. Since they're already in the National dex, the Sinnoh dex doesn't match up exactly with the National dex. The same probably goes for Isshu, so we'll just have to wait until we know exactly what it is. ~ solaris 19:10, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Romanization

Shouldn't we use a better romanized name, like we did back in Generation IV? It can be replaced when the trademarked romaji comes out. Since we all know its name comes from chinchilla, it would be more correct to use Chillamii, Chillami, Chillamie or Chillamy. - D-Wheel 06:08, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

We're not supposed to until trademarked Romaji comes out. But there is no reason for this page to be at an incorrect Hepburn Romanization.—Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 18:28, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Name origin. It might be a mixture of chinchilla and "チラ見(chirami)".

チラ見(chirami) is a lovely gesture that the child does. Sawamular101 15:18, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

You may want to explain a little more about the gesture. Mudkipchan 15:22, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Chirami is a gesture of the line of vision. If the child does chirami, it becomes a very lovely gesture. If the adult does chirami, it becomes an unpleasant act. (lol . Sawamular101 15:32, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
I still don't get it....--Pokélova! 16:01, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
I think he means, like...averting your eyes and looking up occasionally? ("chirachira" is intermittently, "mi" is look) When a kid does it it seems cute and bashful, but an adult doing it is never positive (he doesn't have the balls to look me in the eye or he's just disrespecting me, etc.).—Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 19:01, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
It can literally be translated as "glancing look." Pretty much what Uru said... except that I think what Sawamular was saying is that if an adult does it, it's generally in a sexual/seductive manner. XD 梅子 19:17, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
And I think it is just coincidence that Chiramii has that in its name, it doesn't seem to be a Pokémon that would glance at people. Mudkipchan 19:25, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Mr. Loveはドコ? perfectly represented what I had wanted to say. Thank you for supplementing my explanation. Sawamular101 05:25, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
If "チラ見(chirami)" is in fact the insperation for the name it could be a refrence to it having a cute and childlike appeal. EpicShadow 12:46, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Questionable Grammer

May I please do something about some of the grammer in the physiology descriptions of some of the pokémon. "Ear insides" come on guys, it should be "the inside of its ears". In the futur I would hope to see beter grammer, as it makes the articles sound more professional.EpicShadow 10:30, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

I think you should also improve your grammar as well. But I somewhat agree... Mudkipchan 04:19, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Sorry but my gramer gets sloppy if I have no reason to correct it (this is not the actual article). Thanks for backing me up though. EpicShadow 11:22, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
I think it best be left to an admin.--Pokélova! 04:24, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Given that the grammar is questionable, as opposed to bad, we have bigger things to worry about at the moment. But if you want to rewrite it or fix stuff, post it here and we can put it in the article. Werdnae (talk) 04:32, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Realy it is mostly the "ear insides" thing that bothers me. I have seen this in pages from Venusaur to Chiramii (there is a possible 68 pages were this errer might be), with permission I would like to go back and change this... over the next 23 days. (stupid editing limit!) EpicShadow 8:44, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
I think "ear insides" sounds pretty stupid too... though it doesn't help that I'm not a fan of the physiology sections in the first place. Anyways, I edited it out of Venusaur, and if you see any more, please feel free to edit it yourself or post a note on the talk page. --ZestyCactus 16:08, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
This idea was a bust. I just got a message saying the edits are not helping the articles and that I should stop. There are simply to many edits. EpicShadow 1:46 20 July 2010

Evolution

Okay I know we don't have any info on the evolutions of Chiramii but couldn't we say something like "It Is Unknown Wether This Pokemon Can Evolve Or Not" not something like giving it only one stage and saying its "Unevolved". The first time I saw it I was like "WHAAATTTTTT???!!!!!!" It could cause confusion to other people who don't know and Pokemon besides freakin' Pikachu. And remeber peoples, CHIRAMII IS SPELLED WITH ONE A, NOT TWO, ONE. ONE A. NOT TWO, ONE. ONNNNNEEEEEEE. NEOgreenSOROU 12:19, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, that template is there to show that is has no confirmed evolutions or pre-evolutions. I don't really like having it there, but I do see why it should be there. I don't know why it would be so confusing to people who don't know Pokémon besides Pikachu. Finally, it is not spelled anywhere on the article with two 'A's, so I don't see why you are making a point of this. --SnorlaxMonster 12:43, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm just saying if a person stumbled upon this site somehow and saw that at first glance that Chiramii was not evolved because of our limited info they might think that Chiramii was a one-evolution pokemon he/she might go out and tell his/her friends and bam you've got a group of people with the wrong info. The way that its presented it just confusing, that's all. So I was wondering if we could make it less confusing. And also if you type in "Chiraamii" or "Chiramii" in the search bar it leads to the same page, there's a similar problem with "Zoroa"/"Zorua". However for that case we have an evolution so I think it should be "Zoroa" to go along with "Zoroa"rk(Zoroark). I know that this will all be fixed when the english comes out but for now I'm just trying to make everything less confusing. NEOgreenSOROU 13:00, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
It's called redirects.--Pokélova! 06:45, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Exactally just do that, but even then its the wrong spelling and is giving you something else. But still, what else can a person mean if they type in "Chiraamii"? XD NEOgreenSOROU 15:08, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
If someone searches for "Chiraamii", they will be redirected to "Chiramii". This is so that someone who has romanised the name differently can still locate the page with the correct spelling.
As for the presentation of the information, I don't believe it's misleading. We just don't know, so it's better to show it as a singular, unevolved Pokémon until we know otherwise. Munna's page said "unevolved" before we knew it evolved into Musharna because... we didn't know. I know that pages such as Tauros have the line "It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon", though I think with the pages for new Pokémon nobody's bothered because new information is revealed every 5 minutes. --ZestyCactus 15:53, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Also, think back to Generation II. When Togepi was revealed, did people assume it was an evolved Pokémon or that it would evolve? No, we had no idea, so pretty much every source (like The Official Pokémon Handbook) just presented it as a single Pokémon. We're doing the same thing. --ZestyCactus 15:53, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Sweep Binta

Filb.de has video of Chiramii using a move called スイープビンタ Sweep Binta on Munna. Binta translates as "slap in the face". So my guess is this will likely be translated as "Sweep Slap", and it appears to be a multi-hit move.--PhantomJunkie 08:20, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Chillarmy

From Serebii

The Japanese Trademark database has been updated with a few new trademarks for the Japanese names of the Pokémon. As always, most recently seen with Victini this weekend, the Pokémon get their Japanese names as well as an official romanisation, being the Japanese name stated in English. Usually, we just include the literal translation of the names until we get the romanisation. Well, today we have received the official romanisation for the Pokémon Chiramii (チラーミィ). It's official romanisation is Chillarmy, derived from Chinchilla and army.
