Trivia
- Although its pre-evolution is designed by James Turner, Mandibuzz is designed by Ken Sugimori himself.[citation needed]
- Mandibuzz has the highest HP of all Dark-type Pokémon.
- It is impossible to get a 'seen' Pokédex entry for Vullaby or Mandibuzz in Pokémon White without trading with another player.
Origin
Mandibuzz is based on an Old World Vulture or the California Condor. Its design also bears resemblance to stereotypical "savages" or barbarians. The row of teeth around its waist resembles an apron.
Name origin
Mandibuzz may be a combination of mandible and buzzard. It may also come from mandil, apron.
Vulgina likely comes from vulture and regina, the Latin word meaning queen.
